Description

Cecaelias are a race of hermaphroditic beings that dwell in the oceans of the world. They live in clans that support each other in the deep waters. Cecaelias tend to hunt in packs of 5 or more, and while they don't usually hunt humans, there were plenty of times where they did in the past before being enslaved. Many of those encounters inspired the myths of sirens.

They have six to eight, sometimes ten, tentacles which ends with poisonous barbs that can paralyse prey and retract when not in use. Their jaws can also expand to take large bites and have a bite force of 4900 psi. Cecaelias produce mucus to keep their skin wet when out of the water, and have superior eyesight and hearing to humans, along with possessing sonar.

Cecaelias are highly intelligent, human level intelligent, but they tend to be more tribal and prefer to use their bodies and simpler weapons like stones over complex machinery, but some have been taught to use guns and advanced weapons. They tend to live up to 150 years.

Welp. It's MerMay isn't it? It is. I thought on doing something for mermay, but there's already way too much mermaids around here, so I decided to do another sea being, a cecaelia (or a sea witch). Though, tbh I actually don't like it when monsters only look like humans with animals parts slapped onto them. Escpecially when they are pretty humans. It kinda feels a bit lazy and not even scary tbh. But hey that's just me. And the hermaphrodite thing..... guys I find it fascinating okay? ... Sorry. I hope you guys like this art.
