Description (Note: I've never seen Inception, but the only other title I could think of for today was 'Gotta Catch 'Em All', which would be more appropriate for a Spring Clean page.  That'll larn me to watch Pokemon the night before posting day...).

Obligatory blue milk is obligatory.  I'm not even sure what the stuff is supposed to be, but apparently its presence is so vital to the very nature of Star Wars that they added it in the Rogue One reshoots.

Normally my memory for movie quotes is quite good, but it would seem that it doesn't extend to lines from Phantom Menace or Force Awakens, since I had to look up the exact wording of both of them.  They sounded better in my head.

The blue milk is basically "regular milk" in the star wars canon, except it's from Banthas instead of cows.
(those large animals the sand people on Tattooine rides on).

Fun Fact, those Banthas in Ep. 4 was actually elephants in costumes. If you google it, there are on-set photos to prove it.
As far as I know, they used some circus elephants, due to their training as performance animals.

gotta love how much of Original Trilogy was actually done with stop-motion, puppets and other practical effects instead of computer-effects and green screens.

can we please not start a debate on practical vs. digital?

Not trying to start a debate, just saying they had some amazing practical effects
in the original trilogy.

Oh this is going to be good, can't wait to see what Grace finds in the Rabbit hole. Also poor guys they had to see all the horror happen around them as the Kingdom fell apart and saw how dear Pinkie (if it is her) turned so dark from being a party thrower to megalomaniac control freak. There will some trauma there when they awaken.

You should watch out for that blue milk.

Or at least that's what Darths and Droids has taught me.

XD I just realized that Anakin's line, "You underestimate my power!", sounds kinda like an edgy teen....

>mfw when Rainbow is an edgy teen

All of Anakin's lines sound like that.

Except in Clone Wars, where he's an actual character with depths and motivation and stuff.

Poor Grace, maybe she should be rocking Generosity at this point. She is literally risking it all for this project.

That shows she doesn't need it. If you look, the Element Seeds so far have been drawn to ponies who exhibit their virtues uncharacteristically (Moontear lies to herself, Spring Clean is a hoarder, Cookiecutter is mean, and Skywalker is... um... not a unicorn).

Don't come crying when your cotton tail gets dirty when your down the rabbit hole, Grace.
Wish you luck.

I don't get the autoturret reference, assuming it's this:
starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Autotu…
unless it's to use on Dash if/when she's revived and still evil/possessed...

Basically. Not that particular model, though - the tripod gun that the snowtroopers tried to use on the Falcon (since that's what I already had made).

Yup. They're fully aware of their surroundings. (commence the fridge horror of the things they witnessed on Jabba's barge)

I don't 'get' Pacific Rim.  I hear a lot of people praising it, but I didn't see a lot to differentiate it from the 1998 Godzilla, which everyone but me hated...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Aprion In reply to KittyTheS [2017-03-14 16:26:17 +0000 UTC]

Pacific Rim may have its flaws ( the biggest being stupid tactical decisions that killed two crews )  but i don't care. its like my childhoods wet dream. giant freaking robots trading blows with giant monsters. what's not to love ^_^

as for the 1998 godzilla movie, i found it pretty entertaining. it's not "a great masterpiece" but honestly, I dont get the hate. frankly i found the more recent one to be of a more questionable quality.

"Would you like to know more ?"

The recurrent sentence from Starship Trooper, I don't know why I thought of this.
And nice Amidala ref at the end.

Probably because it occurred to me too  Definitely not one of my favorite movies, but it is interesting how it managed to have the complete opposite message of its source material...

Isenlyn In reply to KittyTheS [2017-03-14 15:53:41 +0000 UTC]

I watched it because people told me it was a stupid sci-fi action movie and I wanted to see a basic movie for fun.
At the end I was like "This movie is awesome ! It have at least 3 levels of lecture, it's awesome ation and 2nd degre humour" It's still one movie I enjoy watching once in a while, I love it. ^^
(What I like is that it's actualy a propaganda movie from the univers of the movie. So cool.)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KittyTheS In reply to Isenlyn [2017-03-14 15:59:14 +0000 UTC]

But... but... it's an anti-propaganda piece... it makes war look terrible (although not as terrible as the Vietnam movies it's trying to ape) and makes heroism look pointless (since the people who try it either get killed for a moment's lapse in concentration or have their thunder stolen by someone else).

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Isenlyn In reply to KittyTheS [2017-03-14 17:48:34 +0000 UTC]

Yes, because we are not actualy at war with those bugs. But even the advertisments are adds in the movie like if we were watching it from inside. Every hero is polished to the extrem because it pass throug 2 layers of propaganda heroism. That's why it look so fake and seems pointless to us. It's the movie of the characters who are heroes of the war inside the movie. I love it <3

It is a masterpiece of anti-propaganda by being one agsagerated to the extrem.

(I've seen people calling it a pro US movie even if the heros are from Buenos Aires. That's people seeing it in first degree without even listenning ^^)
