Now, remember the drawing I did with the tanooki and the lizard resembling Striker? Remember that I said I wanted to create 'rival characters' for the main Knothole Freedom Fighters and omit their counterparts from MOebius whom I don't like? I'm continuing that.

Friction was a character I already made before, but now he has been given a redesign and a species change. He is not a porcupine he is a spiny rat. Also a tune up of his suit. You can see a power gem in his chest to show that he doesn't get his powers naturally but artificially.

A former actor portraying Sonic's idol Speedy the Porcupine in the tv show of the same name, in real life he is not as altruistic as the hero he plays and only cares for attention and fame. When Sonic accidentally upstaged him he wanted to gain real superspeed, not the special effects fo the show. And after gaining a Power Gem and a speed suit to channel it, he became Friction.

And now one for Sally. Nova the Star-Nosed mole. yes, that is a species. She is an inverse of Sally. Sally is of noble blood but her title became meaningless after the fall of her kingdom and decide to be a warrior. Meanwhile Nova is born to the lower class, on the border of poverty but through dirty tricks and cheating and lying, conning and anything else, she obtained riches and reimagined herself as a noblewoman. She goes through great lenghts to hide her past as a poor woman and tries to convince herself and others she was born into riches and greatness. She has even turned her back on her old friends and family to live the high life and refuses to associate with the others of her class.

She is jealous of Sally too, due to her still being more well known and respected even with her title as princess meaningless. And of course she is so self centered she doesn't realize the problem is herself.

She is a mole but she hides her clawed hands and her small eyes with her glasses and gloves so she doesn't get to be seen as a dirt digger (she cares about appearance more then anything). I also had to draw her doing a noblewoman's laugh. You know the one. It obscured her outfit so I drew the outfit besided her as well as her uncovered eyes and uncovered hands.
