Description
To go with the Righteous bridge I built a Main Engineering. This is very loosely based on the Intrepid deck in that there are two decks (well, actually there are some maintenance decks above and below, but there are two main decks) but there the similarities end. The core is in a segregated room that can be isolated with a set of blast doors so that the entirety of engineering doesn't have to be evacuated in the event of a coolant leak or core ejection. Also there is a corridor down the side of the core room with windows looking in, so the core can be monitored from outside.
The core itself is a three barreled design, allowing for three simultaneous matter/antimatter streams to be utilised. This reduces the risk of losing main power if the articulation frame is partially misaligned and increased total power output.
Finally there is a separate area for slipstream equipment - should the technology be perfected...
