Description Created for a chemistry project, the Atomic Man is a name that has been passed down by a family of superheros. The various incarnations of the Atomic Man are based on a different atomic model.

Our assignment was to find a creative way to show the evolution of the atomic model, so I decided to do it with superheroes.

1st Atomic Man- Aristotelian "atomic model". Aristotle believed everything to be composed of fire, earth, water, or air in varying amounts and combinations. The 1st Atomic Man has power over these four elements.

2nd Atomic Man- Thousands of years later, the idea of an atom was revived. The 2nd Atomic Man is based around a model that is often referred to as the "plum pudding" model. This was the first model to introduce electrons, so I gave the 2nd atomic man electric powers!

3rd Atomic Man- Later, the idea of electrons within the nucleus were abandoned, and the idea of electrons orbiting around the nucleus became widely popularized. The 3rd Atomic Man has telekinetic powers.

4th Atomic Man- Based around the most current atomic model, (the Quantum Mechanical one) states electrons do not orbit around the nucleus in fixed paths, but instead exist in different levels of possible locations (similar to clouds). Based off of that, I gave the 4th atomic man the ability to release burst of energy from his body, and create impromptu energy fields.

Sorry for all the science...

Love how the evolution of the costume reflects the atomic models over history, as well as the Golden, Silver, Bronze and Iron Age. Love the Quantom one especially.

PS. The Virtus script turned out much shorter than expected. 15 pages or so, and I'll just have to tweak it a bit and add in the dialogue. I might be able to finish it this week.

And cool, i look forward to reading it! And what do you think if virtus was don in a line style similar to this picture here?
