Description A Rainy Wildflower Sunset

Boreas Pass, outside of Breckenridge Colorado

There are times when one sees and experiences things in nature that a camera can not capture fully and this was one of those times, trying to put this experience in to words watching this whole entire seen unfold with the smell of the rain coming and the sunlight reflecting off the clouds, lighting the wildflowers up, was incredible. It is really quiet up here, with hardly anyone around, almost eerie at times, but it is also gorgeous as well....this was one of these moments I will always remember.

I know exactly what you mean! I had the same experience when I was in Colorado, but it was standing withing the folds of a blue mountain. You are lucky to have had your camera with you...!

Awesome John. Very strong image. Might be tempted to add a levels layer bumping the whites just to the lower half to increase the luminance just a tad there but great catch

Very nice. I can't tell if this is HDR, or GNDs. Nicely done, either way. I like the strip of "fire" on the horizon. Powerful colors across the scene.

The first thing that came in to my mind was that this would have being the perfect scene on the day that meteor hit the earth 65 million year ago. Or maybe a nuclear attack scene from 24. I know these days Iā€™m a bit crazy over this end of the world crap

it looks like a dream come true. i always wonder how you meter your exposures for these types of scenes. landscape photography is just one thing that i can't seem to get right most of the time. the composition is great as well,
it's got your signature style all over it. lovely work john! the rest look great too.
