Featured by the USFWS The United States Fish & Wildlife Service has featured my photo here promoting the refugee system in the United States [link] I ventured out bright & early Tuesday morning to Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge and was hoping to catch a really good sunrise out there. I have had this shot in mind for awhile now and other than one other time, the sky just didn't lend itself for photographing it. Today was a different story entirely with an amazing sunrise that lie up the ground and sky in light & color. It was dang chilly out here, about 12 degrees and I had the songs of Coyotes to keep me company. Sometimes you just have to stop, breathe and admire what is going on around you and enjoy the moment!

I really love the colors... colorful skies always win me over. but it's also cool how the dry environment sort of gives it an air of abandonement and death, even when the sky says otherwise. coolio
