Description Discovery of ancient civilization city (skyscrapers)...was some kind of an idea at the beginning...more or less

I was going for something different this time and idea was to achieve the look like a screenshoot taken from some game trailer or something like that.
A lot of new stuff i learned while doing this one such as improve my modeling in Vue and postwork in PS like motion blur, lens distortions, lens flare and stuff like that.

It took quite a while to make it mostly because a lot of experimenting and modeling the ruins in Vue. Since Vue is not exactly for modeling that part was tedious. I seriously need to start more learning Cinema4D for this kind of stuff.

After a lot of hours spending on this one i really don't know what to do and everything seem wrong or too much...to add second airplane closer to the ground or not...to add different lens flare of not to add it at all...huh...

Help me guys, what do you think?

Beautiful render. I can only imagine the time spent getting this just right.

Thanks!Β

Yes indeed, it took some time to make the ruins in Vue(!) and populate it all. There is also a lots of painting in Photoshop on top of it.Β

If i remember correctly the whole thing i did throughout around two weeks, as i had time. Now when i learned more stuff and modeling
with other software + experience it would take probably around 3-4 days.

Don't worry if you really love to do this stuff you will eventually learn how to do it. It's just that a lot of work and practice is needed.
I just started in 3D software 4-5 months ago (you can see here on dA in my Vue Gallery from my 1st render until now progress) and learn about digital art. I knew photoshop from before since i did some graphic and web design but for digital painting workflow is different so i need to learn how to draw also...i'm not satisfied at all with this level so a lot more learning and practice for me also, that is certain.

The actual lens flare looks good. I worry a little about the length and brightness of that blue streak of 'diiffraction flare' from the airplane canopy. There's no room for a second plane. Anything flying significantly below this one is taking a chance. I hope you'll take a peek at part of our gallery. My favourite folder is 'SF Fantasy' aegiandyad.deviantart.com/gall… .
