Description
Desolated rocky wasteland this time! I didn't use direct reference from Lord Of The Rings but i had that kind of a world in my mind while doing this.I had a bit of trouble with towers integration and i am not quite satisfied with it, it's as far as i can do and i feel like any
further tweaking would make it even worse.
Terrain made with Vue + World Machine, towers (base) in Maya and comp everything together + painting in Photoshop.

Wow!! Once again i'm impressed by what can be done with Maya/ Photoshop. Any tutorials you would suggest, I would be starting to do this kind of stuff in a few months. How long did it take?

This is not just Maya/Photoshop..the only thing i did in Maya is modeling of architecture. The rest, terrain, materials, render, i did in Vue and then addedΒ
more stuff later in Photoshop.
As for tutorials for Maya, as always i suggest Digital-Tutors stuff and Gnomon Workshop tuts especially forest techniques. I also have watched a lot tuts forΒ other software like 3ds max and C4D since, at the end of the day, all software can pretty much do the same thing but on slightly different way so what matter is modeling technique and workflow!Β
For Vue stuff...Quadspinner tuts are a must! Then there is AsileFX and GeekAtPlay(free but great!!)
How long did it take? I assume you mean how long took me to make this work? I did it trough one day...in hours it would be around 5-6 hours or so.
