Thanks Jeff. He is quite harmless. He is a Water Dragon. You will find them everywhere there is fresh water in SE Queensland.

He is only a baby Annie. He would be a 60 to 80cm long (24 to 30 inches). They grow to a bit over a metre and are much heavier. They are quite harmless though and are common around here. We used to catch them as kids.

Wow where I live in the northern part of Pennsylvania USA... Only salamanders survive the cold and they on my get about 3inches long

We only have winter for 3 months. It is cool then. For 9 months of the year it is hot. We are in spring and have had temps around 36 (96 for you) already.

It stays pretty much that for none months give or take. We will get the occasional 40 and 30. Winter here the days are in low 20's. It's called sub-tropical. At the moment we are in the grip of a drought and bad fires (I think the news said 70 were burning last night). I haven't been affected by fire but things are dry and it is hard to keep them alive. Being on the coast we have had some rain but people out west are doing it tough.
