Description
As I see it in my mind, a great many years have passed after an unknown event knocked out all of the power. Enough years for the trees to mature and the house to fail. However, this house is still very much inhabited by a new family that was seeking a new shelter to call home.I have never attempted a photo-manipulation on such a scale before to be honest as I have always enjoyed painting. I did however, find this to be quite enjoyable and very much a challenge trying to get the lighting and colors and such to all match up correctly through out all the photos.
Since this is a contest for a stock photo company I decided to use only their photos. None of my own were used. I also decided to keep it as realistic feeling as was in my ability, rather than go to crazy with it. As stated before a lot of photos were used but, there is also quite a bit of hand painting involved as well. I hope you enjoy.

especially when you've used only the images from the stock photo company ... great job with the lighting as well ... the whole scene feels like it's one photograph .. no signs of manipulation at all ....

Sorry, I was referring to the whole effect of the picture, but thats cleared up for me. This must of took you some time.
My vines? I didn't do any lol. After seeing the runners up for this competition I realised how crap mine were lol. But it has showed me how good I need to be. It has encouraged me to work harder and take longer on my photomanipulations. Once again, great pic

Yes, I have a ton of time in this and it still needs a lot more to be honest but, work and motivation must come first lol. The biggest part of photo-manipulation in my opinion, is lighting. It takes awhile to get the lighting from all the different photos to appear to match up. Light affects so much, such as color values and contrast and etc.
a good rule I learned a while back was the brighter the light, the less saturation the color will have, the darker the light or shadow the more saturation color will have. Also it helps to walk away for a bit and come back and look at your work as a whole and your mind will tell you what stands out as wrong.

Thanks for the complement. To which effect are you referring? The vines were created using quite a few different vine and leaf brushes and piling layers upon layers altering the color of each as I went. I personally prefer your vines though.
