Description The Henschel Hs 297 (some times knows as the 7.3 cm Föhn-Gerät ) was a late war ww2 Nazi German surface-to-air anti aircraft rocket defense system. It was meant to be used in large barrages against low flying ground attack aircrafts by firing spin stabilized Raketen Sprenggranate (spin stabilized) 72.9 mm rockets. Only few were ever made and eve fewer survived the war.
Manual of arms. - The Henschel Hs 297 was operated by a single man who would turn the weapon by hand and foot while the elevation was set by hand crank. Aiming was done either with the weapon systems main AA spider sights located inside the body shield or by its auxiliary sights located to the right of the launching racks. The weapon is reloaded by the use of removable rocket racks (similar to tripper clips/en blocks with small arms).
This model and renders were commissioned by the Wild Arms research to be used in their up coming book titled "Man Portable Air Defense System: Fliegerfaust." More renders of the weapon system here.  www.artstation.com/artwork/rA8…
