Very often the simplest things have the biggest impact e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

There's nothing I could say about your technique. You did a really great job in using this broad strokes of the brush; you combine a very spontaneous-looking way of painting with a planned and clear design.

You integrated many contrasts into this piece that complete each other in harmony.
There is the part of the heart that is painted with very broad and dark strokes and would, without the fine and thin line completing the heart, look like a large black mark. In contrast to this rough part is the fine line that closes the outline of the heart.
Then you chose a very simple design, a heart. But the single strokes and all the fine lines and dots add a complex look. If you would have drawn a simple heart it would look quite boring. but this way there are many forms and structures to look at. This way your painting is everything but boring to the eyes.
You chose only black to paint your picture. But there are so many different shades of grey that it is a joy to look at. In the broad and dark part of the heart this different shades together with the light lines of the brush lighten this big and dark part up so it does not dominate the picture too much.
And, at last: You only uploaded a part of this painting; at least it looks like you scanned the whole piece and cut a piece out of it. Don't get me wrong, I really like that.

So, all in all: This is a really great painting. Thank your for sharing this with us e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

Wow, I like how this is designed to appear almost as if it was on accident, looks kind of like someone just swiped a paintbrush across the paper a few times and a heart was there e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

I really do like roughness and quickness that you put into this piece, normally I like clean, completely finished looks with crisp bright colors, but in this case speed was exactly what you needed to get the point across. IT makes me wonder how many attempts you had to go through to get the right effect, was this really done on a first attempt or were their many failed "not right" hearts that went into before.

Well, I love the drag marks, I love the roughness, and I love the speed you put into it - truly a very simply, yet impressive picture e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā€¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>

Sometimes the simple things can leave big impacts. Yes I did this is one try from what I remember. I thank you very much for your critique. I am very glad you like this little piece of mine.

This is a fine piece of work.

Perhaps a little hint/ streaks of one color would have been nice to contrast with it, but regardless its still a great work of art.

I was originally going to add blue in the middle of the heart, but personally I think black grey wand white work just fine.
