Description Guys, i have no idea whats wrong with photoshop elements 3.0! When i open it, it doesnt have the checkered backround, and when it try to enlarge the size of the porfolio, it doesnt let me. Its on custom when i open it(i dont know what it usually says..) and there are these weird templates on the right, instead of the other ones! I cant do art or the comic, because it wont let me change the size, its pissing me off. So..help??

ok so the windows on the side have probally always been there just hidden like mine are set to be, to hid the style/effects window just click the white triangle and it'll turn into another tab. If there are windows tht used to be in you pannel thats aren't there now just go to windows an click the windows that used to be there. As for the the transparancy /size i think someone else already covered that

Oh I know, maybe you could created a new layer, then delete the backround layer by Right clicking on it and select . You should have your checkers back!

Are trying to change the image's size or the canvas's size?

i should be able to help, since i use this program all the time.okay,if it doesn't have the checkered background, that's probably because you didn't put it on transparent when you opened a new canvas. and when you need to resize it,g0o to image and click resize.then something should pop up that lets you resize it.

when you go to file and click,'new',you open a new canvas and on the pop up,it will ask the size and stuff, toward the bottom of that pop up,there will be a little drop down list that asks for a background, and instead of 'white' choose 'transparent'.hope that makes sense
