The Helreign general stood over Marion, examining her with her eyes. Marion couldn't help but notice the aristocratic air the officer exuded - far removed from her rough minions. "Do I... know you?" the general asked tauntingly, digging her riding crop under Marion's jaw. Marion didn't answer - she simply trembled at the thought of what the Helreign might do to her. The general's expression changed from teasing pleasure to blank disinterest, accented by a raised eyebrow. "Bah. If I've seen one Transcendent Maiden, I've seen them all. Release her and stop bringing me peasants who are of no threat to us. Capture some renegade knights or even a bandit - something worthy of my time! Something I can report to the Empress!"
As the Helreign Warriors carried Marion away, she smiled slightly - 'I knew the Helzig were nice people deep down!'

Got to have a lower level boss our heroes can beat before the final ones! Here she is! Nice individualized appearances of the two Helreign soldiers. The rings in the lower lip of the soldier on the left made me think that she was sticking out her tongue at first glance!

Ooh, now I'm coming up with theories like the general has sympathies for the Primeans or just innocent folk in general. I'm probably off my mark, aren't I? Cool scene, and I love the different expressions on the guards. One's all, "Ugh, this one was more trouble than she's worth," and the other one just looks happy and dumb.

But: sneaky, sneaky Tom! You only drawed once the guard, and then you copied her, gave (or erase!) body marks, and then you changed their heads!XD May I ask the reason for that? Or did you made a mistake when inking one of them, and you decided to cover it?

Well, the thing is, the orginal image didn't have the second guard and I said... heck, I can make it two guards and then look a little bit better/more intimidating. : ) You can't have an empire with just one lady. ; D

Historical fact pop up: the prussians always did that: after they defeated the saxons, austrians and bavarians, they allways pressed the prisoners into service in times of Federic the Great, after and before!
Usually thought they sended these to fight in other fronts, and was a more common practice against other german-speaking enemies... but they did as well with other of their enemies.
More modern examples can be in WWII: Germany movilized during the war abour 14 million people in the feldgrau uniform: of these, 1.400.000 where russians, and other 800.000 of other nations. Many of these, of conquered enemy nations.

I imagine she would have some weird accent - what I lack in character depth I make up for in pin-on elements, like eyepatches, hissing lisps and manic laughter. XD
