"The Puppeteer"I'm not sure how to really describe this piece... It seems rather straight forward.
No matter what Shadow believes his purpose to be, his strings are just being pulled by someone else. They are the ones controlling him. Gerald's Last Wish... he made Shadow think it was for himself, for revenge...but Gerald was the one pulling the strings. He commaned the orchestra, and set the trap.
Even whe the Gizoid, Gerald had, once again, tied the strings, and commanded the puppet to do his bidding.
Heh. *shrugs*
I'm very pleased with how well Shadow turned out. It turned out much better than I anticipated. Spent a good 4-8 hours working on just him alone. I wasn't too sure how t ocomplete the background. But, I knew I wanted Gerald somewhere inbehind everything. I think he ended up a bit too dark, but it's hard for me to tell, as I sit in the dark, and everything is brightened 10 fold compared to someone sitting in a lit room.
I just can't help but keep staring at Shadow... Something about how he turned out. He looks... full? Hard to describe. Oh well.

Shadow's true goal was to fulfill Maria's last wish. He made that his purpose. But Gerald tampered with his mind and brainwashed him into being the avatar of his (Gerald's) lust for revenge.

Poor Shadow..........looks all helpless.good art. but shadow just looks like he can't do anything.this tells the real relationship he had with egghead and gereld robotnik.Maria was the best thing that kept him going.nice art man.

This is really good! And as ~myphrill said, Shadow was manipulated by Gerald after G.U.N.'s attack on the ARK and Maria's death. I love how Shadow's eyes are half-lidded and dull. The professor's shadowed outline provides a more ominous and gloomy feel to the picture. Again, this is really amazing!

I saw this picture years and years ago before I ever had a deviantart, and only now have I found it. This picture is just beyond amazing. The lighting effects add to the eeriness and I love the submission shown on Shadow's face. This picture is just marvelous, excellent work

Fricken' Creepy... I like it.
It's giving me the chills. The atmosphere is perfect, and amazingly portrayed. The proportions are correct, The expression is spot-on for the situation, and Gerald's silhouette in the background just brings the picture together.... Like strings on a puppet.
Not to mention deep and meaningful.... Your effort really shows through.
