Description Soooo....this is the only other one of the commissions I got at Ikasucon that I scanned in..and, the only reason I really scanned this in is cause I had to cg it (though I probably would have scanned it in anways, I actually really like this, despite its problems!) X3

But, anyways, I just LOVE commissions like this! I don't get to draw what I really want to anymore, so I pretty much have to rely on things like this to do so...and yay~! I really wanted to do some more YuuRam..and I gotta throw Greta in! The pose was requested by the commissioner ^.-

Yuuri, Wolfram, Greta (c) KKM!, Temari Matsumoto, etc, etc...

Oh, Ikasucon! Do you normally attend/will you be there this year? I'm planning on going, and if there would be other KKM fans about, I would consider bringing my Wolfram cosplay along!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kojika In reply to shoujome [2010-04-12 18:45:00 +0000 UTC]

I actually only did Ikasucon that one year. I only live about 2 or so hours away from it, but they um...gave us suuuuch a handle full of troubles, that we've sorta been avoiding it. We were actually debating about going back to it THIS year, but it's too close to Otakon, which is our most expensive con of the year, lol. I would love to see your Wolf cosplay though, lol XD

Do you go to ACen or anything else in the area?

shoujome In reply to kojika [2010-04-12 22:39:58 +0000 UTC]

Oh, yikes. I should warn my two friends, who are the reason I'm going - they applied for an artist's alley table, which came with an extra registration badge.

I'm located waaay down in Southern Indiana, so I usually don't even trek this far north, heh. I'd love to attend ACen someday, though. It's fairly easy and quick to get to Chicago by train from here.

kojika In reply to shoujome [2010-04-12 23:38:14 +0000 UTC]

Well, I did that back in like 2006? so it's been a while. I hear it's gotten better. It was just that year was horrible in regards to that. I was in AA plus I was a panelist and it was just...sooo disorganized >.> they even freaking lost my payment for AA...>.>

Lol, well, I figured I'd see. I'm from NW Indiana, so ACen is currently the closet con to me (not that I don't travel all over for cons XD Just got back from Tekkoshocon in Pittsburg, lol). I recommend ACen though X3 It's one of my top cons (though YoumaCon is my all time fave, lol).

shoujome In reply to kojika [2010-04-13 01:14:42 +0000 UTC]

Ouch. It's good to hear that things have improved, though.

I'll definitely keep it in mind, although there's no way I can make it this year. I've only been to MTAC and FC so far, but I'm expanding the list. We live in the same state, at least, so there's a likelihood we could cross paths somewhere. I have yet to come across any KKM fans!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kojika In reply to shoujome [2010-04-13 01:20:38 +0000 UTC]

I think the main reason it was so bad the year I went was cause that was it's first year only at that venue (first or second, either way it was early).

Ugh, I can't stand MTAC. I've done that one twice. Worst con ever, hands down. Lol, yeah, true enough XD I'm sure we'll end up in the same place eventually! Of course, it takes me like 2.5 hours to get to Indy...why is Indiana so long? XD I'm the only one out of my friends in this area that's really into KKM, but thanks to cons, I've met others. Plus, since I'm the translator for PKR's releases of the manga, I've gotten to meet a lot of internationally even XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shoujome In reply to kojika [2010-04-13 01:32:27 +0000 UTC]

That's understandable.

And haha, really? MTAC is my favorite, but admittedly, that has little to do with the con itself, as I've never attended a panel. XD It's really an excuse to spend time with friends in TN that I don't get to see all that often and wear costumes. Their con staff is a lttle overbearing at times. . .

My best friend got me into it back in 2005 (although it took us a hiatus of several years to finish the series, haha), and we've managed to infect several of our friends who are also into anime. No one at the local con here was familar with anything that didn't air on Adult Swim, for the most part.

And you're bilingual? That's cool. =] I have another friend who has a degree in Japanese and is known for translating Gackt's blogs. I wish I had the dedication to learn another language. Failing Latin II kind of dampened that dream. XD

kojika In reply to shoujome [2010-04-13 01:40:23 +0000 UTC]

I've hit MTAC twice...I think back in like 2006 and 8? I really can't remember, lol. But, the first time we got there a day late due to unforseen circumstances, but we had some minor issues that year. 2008 was the worst. We had panels and they took forever to get our badges when we got there (though the panels went fine), they lost my Artist Alley table stuff...and then, their karaoke contest was a laugh. Plus, the staff members we dealt with throughout the con were horribly rude to us. My sister ended up breaking her phone Friday night, so Saturday we went in to do our panels then at like noon left and went to the mall in Nashville (still in cosplay), and we didn't go back to the con at all. The last year I went I was supposed to meet up with a friend who was going to school in Nashville at the time, but he had tests that week, so it never worked out. And, now he's graduating so I sorta lost my reason to go back, lol.

I can't remember when it was that I got into it. I just know that I had been doing some work with AnimeFaith in exchange for some anime...one of the guys who worked for it gave me some Yakitate! Japan and Ueki no Housoku in exchange for doing the karaoke/translation of the Ueki opening song and translating like 2 episodes of Windy Tales...he added in KKM a bit later as a bonus, like the first 4 eps. When he told me the summary...I thought he was joking XD but that's what got me into it~ I think because my area is rather small, we tend to seek outside sources for things, so we tend to be in rather obscure series to begin with, lol.

Not quite billingual, but I'm working at it XD I just like learning languges. After English (haha, maybe after, my English is bad anymore), Japanese is my strongest, followed by Spanish. But, there are like 10 other languages I know a bit of and can understand when people talk/type to me in them (though I can;t respond well). I just have a knack for learnign languages, lol. I needed to know like 8 alone for my major XD (mind you, they were programming languages, but stiiilll XD )

shoujome In reply to kojika [2010-04-17 04:14:14 +0000 UTC]

I was there in '08 - it was my first con, actually. Perhaps we crossed paths then and just didn't realize it, heh. The con staff is a bit rude, I've noticed. They told us off for allowing our photo to be taken in the artist's alley, when we weren't impeding the flow of traffic and it wasn't expressly forbidden in the rules, since we were well away from the hallway. (Also, why are cosplayers always the ones who get the reprimand, and not the photographer? How dare you wear that outfit and attract people to snap your picture in inappropriate places!) And last year, even though I pre-registered online well in advance, I wasn't on the list when I wen collect my badge, and had to wait for an extra 20 minutes while they fiddled around with my account and informed me my registration was technically still in my cart and hadn't gone through, despite the fact that I had received a confirmation e-mail and everything. Oi.

I don't really associate with many fans locally, since I live in a smaller town and don't socialize with anyone in the nearby city often. In our small bubble, though, it's pretty much Naruto, Bleach, and Inuyasha, straight up. Which lead to me kind of dissassociating from all of the other otaku, who tended to be of the "kawaiidesudesudesu" sort. Heh.

And that's still cool! I can only remember bits of Latin (so many conjugations and tenses and exceptions. . . ahh), and pigeon Japanese. Enough to mildly impress the teppanyaki chef at the Japanese steakhouse I went to for dinner last night, mainly, when I said "itkadaimatsu" before digging in. XD

kojika In reply to shoujome [2010-04-17 04:30:46 +0000 UTC]

Lol, well, I wasn't there much...But, this was me and my big sis: I'm the one with the balloon, lol . Yeah, their staff were so mean...I got a pic of the sign that said "do not take photos" though, haha. we were pretty pissed off at that time. Yeah, that's kinda bad when you blame the cosplayer >.> I mean, I guess they could have said no, but that's rude...>.> uuuuugh, that really sucks @_@

well, the local association is waaay new for me, it's gotten pretty crazy, but in the past, it was the same thing, and then when I started going to cons, I got sucked into bigger groups and soon realized how many people knew each other, lol. Well, if I start to actually look into Chicago, it gets bigger, too, lol.

pidgeon Japanese? lol XD hahha, well, those sorta terms are always good to know. I was once told, by a native Japanese speaker, that the only Japanese foreigners needed to know was how to get to a McDonald's, lol. Cause from there, you can find food, bathroom, lodging, taxi, and apparently English speakers..XD wouldn't know, I didn't go to McDonald's when I was there XD

shoujome In reply to kojika [2010-04-18 05:57:31 +0000 UTC]

Not ringing any bells, I'm afraid. I was an electric yellow catgirl from the Broadway muscial travelling with two other fellow Jellicles, so I would've been hard to miss. It's too bad MTAC ended up being so negative for you, but as I said, I'm really only in it for the company myself.

I'm travelling to Chicago next month, but it's to see Conan O'Brien live. I've been once before and loved it, though. I wish I lived somewhat closer to a major metro area where keeping in contact with like-minded people would be easier. Maybe someday soon.

And haha, that's hilarious! Personally, if I were in Japan, I'd want to avoid anything I had at home and try to soak up as much of the local flavor I could. Admittedly, it might be fun to see the differences in the menu, though, since McDonald's tends to make a somewhat hilarious attempt at suiting the cultural diversities of their various markets. McSushi and McTempura, anyone?

kojika In reply to shoujome [2010-04-18 06:04:08 +0000 UTC]

Lol, well, I can't remember you either, so we probably didn't cross paths, lol XD I wasn't there for much, so it wouldn't surprise me, haah. Well, I've had a lot of bad cons, sadly, but I've had more good ^^

Ooh, cool X3 Lol, well, I'm not really into Conan O'Brien, but I love Chicago, since it's like half an hour away from me, hahah. Chicago's really the only big city, aside from Tokyo, that I've explored...I've been to Baltimore several times, but I don't really do anything outside of like 3-4 blocks, lol,...and the other cities I've been to haven't even gotten that...XD lol, yup~

haha, well, my first year in Japan, one of the other students had me show him the way to get to this one store and he was gonna treat me to McDonald's since it was right in front of it. But, he forgot something and had to run back inside, so while I was waiting for him...I was just sorta standing there looking around and I found a takoyaki stand XD so we had that instead, hahah XD I do love Teriyaki burgers, but I get them from Gabutto..XD

shoujome In reply to kojika [2010-04-24 05:06:59 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, when you travel for cons, the downside is that you usually don't get to explore. I was in San Jose this past January and really wanted to get out and do stuff one day, since I'd never been to Cali before, but of course that was the week CA got all of that torrential rain and flooding. XD Jealous that you live so near a great city like Chicago, though!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

kojika In reply to shoujome [2010-04-24 05:12:52 +0000 UTC]

I went to Cali for AnimeExpo, back when it was still in Anaheim...the only reason I really got to explore any is cause we went out to eat at places that were like 5 or more blocks away, haha XD but it was fuuun, and not like we were doing much else there, haha. Oh that's gotta suck @_@ that could be a real damper XD well, though I loove Chicago, I wanna move to Texas, for no real apparent reason XD
