Note; Please do not critique the wig any more. I'm fully aware of the issues, and I knew it had issues to begin with when I was styling it. So I'd appreciate it if I received no more feedback about it because I am aware.

Not trying to start a fight here, But I also dont really like the wig in this.
I saw the other images of this cosplay from you, and I at first thought it was simply the angle of this picture.
But its just the way you cut it.
The sides are too full and puffy. If you thinned them out a bit it wouldnt look so 'big' on your head.
And the way you cut the front bugs me.
possibly because the cuts are so blunt (from what I can see) and the center strand of hair is just BOOM in your face there out of nowhere. and its far too long.
Other than that this is a nice photo, and the person below really had no right to flame this picture so much.
If there is something someone would like the critique about a picture (since..this IS an art feedback website, not a place for asspats) they should do it in a civilized manner. Some people just dont understand that.

Also I want to say I did not cut the wig in the style it is in. I've only cut the bangs.

I'm aware of the issues with the wig.
First of all the style that it's cut is how the wig came. It's EpicCosplay's wig. Ayase's hair is longer in the front and then it is much shorter along the back. So the general style is correct.
The wig is very thick, and it happens to puff out a bit if I do not go through and flatten the strands beneath. I had just recently got this wig.
However- the shape of the wig also leads it to look bigger than what it is if I drop my head down to the side. I should post a reference image for this wig to show that it is probably the most accurate I've seen of Ayase's hair (general shape).
Also as I have said so many times before I AM aware of the center strand being too long. I had to style this probably the night before I wore it in this photo (and have been far too busy to fix it since I'm in college right now with an intense schedule tha'ts keeping me from doing any real work on any cosplay). The middle strand will be shortened before Yaoi-con.
-Also Ayase has a strand right in the middle like that, but it is a bit shorter. [link] see image here.
Though I do agree that it needs to be trimmed I was even telling my boyfriend that when I had finished it for the night.

Knowing this girl in person, the wig was probably just too big for her. I'm also not familiar with the character at all, however, so I'm not sure how much validity that statement has.

If you actually knew me or the works of the Mangaka you'd understand that this is the casual version of the character.
I plan on doing the anime-version by Yaoi-con.
Look up Kousaka's series/work and then come back before running your damn mouth since she has Ayase in various costumes, INCLUDING a very simplistic version like this.
Just because this is quite plain compared to the rest of my cosplay doesn't make it bad.
I want a costume that I can walk around in public and take photos at my leisure without being disturbed by on-lookers.
So I'll say it again, keep your opinions to yourself and do some research before you run your damn mouth.

Hmm... Well I wasn't commenting on the costume but the sheer fact that the wig is utterly ridiculous. I don't need to know you to express my opinion but I do know the works of the Mangaka. So perhaps instead of running your damn mouth and saying 'Oh you don't know me'. Get a better looking face and stop trying to cosplay something that's cute when it's really just a bad cosplay. [link] End of story. The wig is not utterly ridiculous, it's the most accurate that I have ever seen for Ayase. It is accurate, the middle bang will be trimmed further however as I am aware it is a little too long.
So we go to petty remarks of people's features and jealous remarks. You really must be insecure if you go about and talk about people. "Lul ur face is ugly".
So while we're at it- your anatomy needs major work, you are aware that people's fingers aren't shaped like that correct? Take the time to do some life drawing then come back when you're an adult.
As for the photo I'm the one who set up and calibrated the camera.

I am fully aware my art needs improvement. I just do it for fun and I don't mind when people make rude comments because I am fully aware I'm not the greatest artist.

Ayase is sold by his cousin to Yakuza men in order to pay for his debts. Ayase is auctioned off and Kanou (some guy he met in his past) comes to save him. Little does Ayase know he's been bought by a Loan-Shark... And well he tries to run away to save his cousin, but is not allowed to and Kanou does *coughs* bad things to him and then says that he did after all buy Ayase for several million yen, and tells him that he can only repay his debt by selling his body to Kanou for 500,000 yen at a time.
