I've always had favorites in Pokemon, and Houndour is always one of them. I didn't remember ever drawing it, though, so I did.
Houndour belongs to Pokemon.

Maybe it's just because I love houndour, but i think this art really captures a character, if you know what I mean.

Hm, the remake definitely has more technical skill as far as shading and coloring goes, but I think this one is drawn better. It's adorable. Either way, I'm faving both.

I think my biggest issue with the newer one is the way the face is drawn- the more pointed features (in the nose, ears, etc) remind me more of a Houndoom, whereas the more rounded features in this are more faithful to a Houndour, if that makes sense. I also think you did the skull on his head much better in this than in the remake, but I suppose that could just be personal preference as well.
Either way, they are both very nice, but in different ways. Keep it up.
