Description
One of my latest goof-arounds on the lathe, I was finally able to get hold of a decent-sized piece of walnut to work with! I've been just enjoying the heck out of it, it turns very nicely. The turning on this one was all done with carbides from Easy Wood Tools, and the finish is HUT Crystal Coat. The black lines are wire burns, literally just a friction burn from a piece of wire held against the spinning wood. I've been quite enjoying the effect on walnut, smells really good too when the wood just starts to smoke from the wire.
