I love making gifts for people, it gives extra motivation i think , also i'm trying a new fluffy style- not sure if i should stick with it since it takes longer

It does? BUT STILL SO FAST. If I could draw consistently I'd love making gifts for people, too, I'm kind of sad I can't write gifts, I don't feel confident enough for that and most people don't want their char written by someone else (I'm one of those people!).

Yeah, before i wouldn't spend too long on the characters but now they take most of the time for the painting, and i'm spending less time on the background lol. Thing is though I'd like to work more with realism because cel shading isn't the industry standard so i was hoping i could make a realistic shading style work.
Eh lol, I really should spend more time on my paintings but I'm so eager to show them to people haha- not that I'm rushing too much; they still take a day or two, and it's all i do all day- but I could definitely try more time consuming things.
And yeah i can understand that some people may not want their characters written- but I'm sure if you keep drawing then you'll get a consistent style!

Ah don't worry about rambling, it's fine! I think for things like this, getting down a speedier style that's still quality is also important, though. If you can cut corners and still produce a quality product, you'll be more reliable than someone who takes twice as long to do something half as good, you know? You're progressing awesomely, keep up the good work!
