Nova Griffonia; from a colony of the Griffonian Empire, it has now developed into an empire of its own. Following a coup by Marshal Erwin Highhill after the assassination of Governor Teafeather in late 1008, the nation went through a brief period of almost-civil war, before being pacified by the aforementioned marshal. Then came a lightning conquest of the northern nations; by 1013, just four years later, all of Northern Equus was under the control of Nova Griffonia. The Nova Griffonian Empire was subsequently formed, and since then the nation has seen much development. Emperor Erwin has taken the heiress of a mildly-influential exiled noble family as his bride, and she has born him no less than four children, securing the inheritance of the realm.

Nova Griffonia, much like Cloudbury, has an abundance of natural resources that can be mined from its many mountains, which it uses for its own industry, while also trading with various nations. And in the late 10s/early 20s, a great project was started. Planned out by Infrastructure Minister Triton Goldfeather, the Imperial Highway is a great project designed to unite the various territories of the Nova Griffonian Empire and make them more accessible to the average citizen of the Empire. It is one of the largest infrastructure projects ever undertaken in the world, and when finished, will allow someone to take a car in Weter and drive to Mathair Fearann without any interruptions or stops. Yaks, Bears, Griffons and Penguins all work together on this project, aided by Diamond Dog engineers and Earth Pony architects.

The nation is surprisingly stable: the Emperor and his family are relatively popular even among Yaks, Penguins and Bears, and the idea of the Nova Griffonian Empire is beginning to take root as a proper unifying force for the region. However, recent times have seen the health of the Emperor deteriorate to unknown causes, and there are also reports of researchers in the arctic islands even further north than Dachaigh disappearing...
