Description Well I picked Pin-Up as the section, since we were doing retro hair, makeup, and clothing.

Model: ~fraulein-larissa
Hair: Me
Makeup: ~fraulein-larissa
Location: DeLand, FL

Some people wonder why I create "free art", or do portraits for no reason at all. The truth is that it's the only thing that makes me feel like me. Everything else in life feels like it's for somebody or something else. Photography is the only thing that feels like it's mine

Thank you! That's such a great compliment that my artwork feels like it's from actual history! It makes me giddy to think that I pulled it off!

So pretty! Where exactly is DeLand? This has a really authentic feel to it, due to the editing and costuming! I love her pose and her smug expression!

Brilliant! Definately has a vintage air to it. 1940s?

Something like that. I was going for the 50's pomp hair and a sort of Casablanca trenchcoat feel

Thank you so much! I love being inspired by my surroundings. I found this place at the beginning of the month and have been plotting what to do with it ever since

that's the best compliment really. I took so many shots and only a few have that special feeling where I really feel that I nailed it. I go out with such high hopes and then my mind draws blanks for poses and angles and camera settings.

Burn, baby, burn!!

KoontzPhotography In reply to gabbachoo [2008-04-02 23:20:31 +0000 UTC]

I hardly use the burn tool because it makes skin look dead. Maybe curves or levels or another exposure of the RAW file. I just don't feel like messing with it

Select the area with the elliptical marquee tool set at a fairly high feather and lower curves. Or yea, don't mess with it
