It had started with a meeting, a three way meeting really. Three groups of two. They'd all been plowing through twilit snowfields, the wind harsh and biting, and the irritating monsters clattering and jingling just beyond sight.The snow fell up.
The groups had converged, and some of them had known each other and some hadn't, there had been a lot of yelling, and growling and general noise. Then the snowed given way as a crowd of twilight beasts converged on them. Three had fallen, and the over bright snow had fallen in over them sealing off the way they'd entered.
What had followed had been a lot of bickering, snapping, and snarling. Some wanted to save themselves, some wanted to wait. In the end it all came down to the same thing: They were separated, and even in this little crowd they were alone.
Coronia watched the more beast-like imp with eyes that burned of suspicion. There was something that smelled off about the creature. Something that smelled like betrayal and treachery: Caution! Her instincts screamed with cold fire, far colder than the caves around them. Midna, didn't seem too worried, she'd just sneered and called the other imp a stupid goat, said she couldn't hurt then had a snit over being trapped.
The lantern carrying beast imp was staring at Midna, her eyes narrowed with want, and greed and hunger: Staring at the shadow helm decorating Link's imp friend.
Beyond the frail glow of the lantern the twilight world jangled and buzzed its ceaseless never-silence. Inside the bubble of safe-light the three wallowed in their personal thoughts: One doubted rescue, and wished to make her own way. She was strong. One waited in annoyance for rescue, she could do it herself but why bother? The third plotted, and waited.... unworried. This was a chance.

All right, this an entry for *Antecanis 's contest, the theme of which is Cold Times. I wanted to portray that theme both litterally and figuratively through scenery, color, and emotion.
As for the story and such, most people who watch her will know of her Twilight Princess related story, and as my friend *pyro-blaze-jaguar and I also have a sort of TP story spoof I thought it would be amusing to smoosh them all together for a picture, and thats what I did.
So here's Midna, Coronia, and Twilight!Imp Koorii.
I hope I didn't maul your character up *Antecanis and I hope you don't mind the story smooshing.
I may draw the other side to this picture which would be Link, *Antecanis 's Aik, and *pyro-blaze-jaguar 's Pyro... but we'll see.

Wow, this is a good piece of art. I like how you did the snow. Also I like how you chose their different positions. Coronia is laying with her back to them yet is tilting her head to keep an eye on them. Really shows her mood. The story was well written too.

Haha thank you. I did try to reflect their personalities with their poses, which was very fun because there had to be a lot of interaction and subtle body language drawn in. x3

I really adore the coloring and background here. The shadowing is great and the lantern turned out great.
Coronia looks great, as well as Midna! The coloring on both is awesome and their expressions are very much like their personalities. <33

I just love pictures with a background story! And yours is very well written. Even if there arenβt many names (actually just Midna and Coronia are mentioned) it's no problem for me to know who's who and this is awesome 
The picture really gives me a cold feeling even if there is a lantern and light/warmth source in it. Not only the prelude of the story with the groups meeting and being chased by the beast of Twilight but also the fact that their separated and no one really knows how much they can trust and rely on each other. Well to be honest if I were Coronia I wouldn't trust Koorii-Imp that much neither XD She looks very sneaky but that's what I love on her. My computer screen at work is a little bit dark but if I see that correctly she has four horns? Her imp design is awesome anyway, especially her glowing claws <3
You've done Midna in a very minda-like (lol) way. I really can imagine her floating cross-legged in the air, being all like "why should I use my powers when I know that he's coming for me anyway?"
Do you have a bigger resolution? As far as I can see it with such a dark screen asn I have here Coronia has a great expression. How she pins Koorii with her eyes adds more to the "there is a traitor"-feeling which already lies on the picture.
And I have to tell you that the snow is great! I always have trouble drawing snow but it looks so nice and real in your style. Just like out from TP

As for the story for Koorii and Pyro its not up anywhere but I do have an older picture that was done for it here: [link]
If you can't see it let me know, I'm not really sure if you can as its in storage (I think) -laughs.- The basics of the Pyro and Koorii story basically follows TP in which one of the escaped Ordon goats gets into the twilight realm and somehow becomes an Imp (That's Koorii) and she over hears Midna and Link discussing the "shadow powers" at some point and decides she wants them for herself, so she tricks a rather naive forest dweller into helping her. That's Pyro. So they spend the game storyline trying to get a hold of the Fused Shadows for Koorii's own selfish reasons. -laugh.- So yes, she is very sneaky and not trust worthy. xD
As for Koorii's helmet thingy it has two horns that curls around her ears, and then the large one up top thats shaped like the Ordon goats horns, and of course her own small horns from her general design. You just can't see the smaller ones in this, but you can see them in the other image I linked you to.
I'm so glad you like it as well as the story. I didn't mention names a lot as I liked the story of hectic, confused flow it gave and added to the 'feel' of unsurity. Anyway, I'm glad you like it. I had a lot of fun doing it, especially the background. x3 I'm certainly thinking of doing the second version hopefully I will have that done soon.

We never discussed the ending, but I suppose Koorii was probably thwarted when Link saved the Day and Midna got all the fused shadows. -laughs.-
I'll bet she'll still be looking for a way though. She's a power hungey little critter. We also said she probably tried to strike a deal with Ganon, but Pyro got in her way (Pyro despite being something of a spazz tries to do good, but unfortunately tends to believe Koorii a lot xD)
So they're story probably hasn't ended.
And yes, She's really just an ordon goat in this universe. Outside the twilight realm she actually turns into one with the same color scheme as her regular appearance in my art (the brown colors.) -laugh.-

Nice work. I love the way Coronia came out. You can really feel the weight of her laying down and the malice in her expression. I think you could've done more with the lighting. Perhaps made it stronger and more dynamic with darker, more blue-ish shadows to communicate the idea that they are in a cold environment, and then have bright lights to draw attention to the central focal point: the lantern.
But that's just me. I admit that I've never played TP so I dunno, maybe the Twilight world doesn't have deep shadows. What do I know?

Haha yeah, the twilight world is... very saturated and dim in coloration. The shadows aren't very defined there so I think this is actually kind of dark for the twilight realm, as it IS a realm of darkness and sort of.. sucks the light out of things, and makes weird things glow. -laughs.- Its sort of hard to explain.

I can imagine. XD I'll take your word for it. Hopefully I'll be able to get my entry for this contest in sometime next week. I finish up many of my classes next week, even though the final day of classes isn't until the week after so I'll have time.
