I was looking it over and i'm really pleased with how the lineart on this one... i think i even like it better than the colored version.so here it is.

I prefer this over the coloured version, while you control the two shades with such striking contrast so craftedly, with confidence and vision.

I think the smooshed-ness of it comes from Hellboy's right arm kind being compacted and the way his right hand it attached to his arm.

I love how you managed to keep your style and yet it still has that Mignola flare to it. Its rare that I see a hellboy piece that I like but this one is the best so far. Love your work and i'm surprised that this hasn't gotten any comments yet. Its excellent. I get the feeling that its a little smooshed down... maybe its all that open space up top... no biggy. Its perfect.

yeah, people said the same thing about the colored one looking "smooshed". it was an effect i was trying to go for, to give it a real weighted feeling of tension. for good or ill, i guess it worked

My husband, *viper13 is a huge fan of yours and even he was saying that the "smooshed" effect is distracting. I disagree. The more I looked at it the more I liked the empty space. And you're right, it does feel weighted. Good good stuff. And you're so welcome!
