Description The so called whirlpool galaxy in the constellation of "Canes venatici" (the chasing hounds).
It is a galaxy about 36 million light years away.
This one is a shot with a total exposure time of 3 hours, using a telescope with 5000 mm focal length.

woah...its actually unbelievable...youve taken a picture of a galaxy...a whole galaxy!!! thousands of lightyears away, that small one is probably not there any more and maybe the larger one isnt so spiral shaped anymore. you could have just photographed a planet of aliens, maybe they just got annihilated by the collision....goooddd thats so cool!
