Wanted to give myself a couple days of distance before commenting in full, but...DAMN, if my girl didn't turn out looking goooooooooood.
It was very important to me, to start with, that Makani represent a body type not often seen in female gargoyles or in female characters in general. While I know it took a few tries to get there, I think you REALLY nailed giving her whole body a sense of real physicality and power, with everything fully in proportion and posed in such a way that her raw strength is emphasized.
Every little detail, meanwhile, is fully and truly nailed either as good or BETTER than what I initially had pictured in my mind. The layering effect on the feathers, the simple but striking patterns chosen for her clothing, the fullness and body of her hair (vitally important, since for ancient Hawaiians the hair was a representation of one's personal mana, or spiritual energy)...it all combines for a whole that's even greater than the sum of its parts.
And of course, what must've been by far the most arduous part of my request: the kakau, which turned out just absolutely GORGEOUS. Authentic, detailed, and spread over just enough area to impress with the sheer artistry without looking too "busy" - her left arm, taken by itself, is a work of pure genius, and would've been worth the commission price all on its own.
Overall, you can consider me one VERY happy customer, with all this said and done. It was a fantastically positive experience working with you, and I hope it was the same on your end. Your work ethic, attention to detail, and upbeat attitude impress just as much as your obvious talent for this kind of work.
Thank you again for providing this opportunity to see an idea of mine brought vibrantly and skillfully to life. I wish you and your family nothing but the best, and a fantastic holiday season.
Mahalo nui loa!

Looks good, but remember, gargoyles can't get tattoos because stone sleep would just make them heal over. They can probably get henna, but they'd have to touch it up every few weeks when it starts to fade.

Re: tattoos, Word of God is actually somewhat ambiguous on this point. Greg gives two different replies here and here that both indicate that he isn't entirely sure, but lean in opposite directions.
Given this, my conclusion was that tattoos would be difficult but not impossible for a gargoyle to acquire and maintain, if they're diligent enough. Particularly in the case of kakau, which based on my research are really closer to ritual scarring than what most people these days would think of as "tattoos."
There's also the Humility Spell to consider, of course. Even if gargoyles cannot keep them naturally, it's possible that if it's something they think of as "theirs," the ink would turn to stone along with their body and thus be preserved. That would certainly be the case with kakau, which were deeply personal, often representing one's entire life story.
...In other words, I gave this one a lot of thought (and discussed it with a few fellow fans at length) before committing to the design element, LOL.

Damn, I knew I should've included Masterdramon's tattoo explanation in the description. So here it is: 'Gargoyles normally have difficulty keeping tattoos due to stone sleep, but the method practiced in ancient Hawaii (in essence, cutting out pieces of skin and pouring ink made of soot/ash in the open wound) is permanent enough to overcome the natural healing process.'
Sorry about that!
