Ohh, I love this one! The colors are beautiful, the outfits utterly amazing (give me more Morgana in chainmail, please), don't even get me started on their HAIR, and their facial expressions are so cute I'm screaming. Wonderful work! Β

Usually I donΒ΄t really care for Merlin fanart (the show is entertaining but overhyped, in my opinion).
Yet I like this particular picture very much.
The color contrast and the angular facial features of these two gals are greatly done.Β
Plus itΒ΄s an interesting AU take on the usual king/sorcerer dynamic between Arthur and Merlin.
How Morgana became a boring Big Bad andΒ Guinevere became mostly a Damsel in Distress in later seasons feels like a lot of wasted potential.Β

The show wasn't as good as I'd hoped, but I adore Merlin fanart, as it usually is good in the ways the show wasn't. :)

Yeah well... I wouldn't call it "going crazy", that's pretty ableist and as a person with mental illness I'm not too fond of equating that with being violent and mean. I like to call it "writers needed her to turn into a villain and didn't know how to write a character's journey into being one, and a woman's at that, without resorting to making her into stereotypical and cartoonishly evil". That, and the show's hero kind of tried to kill her when she was vulnerable and thought he was her friend she could trust, so. If only people in Camelot were better at communication and the show's creators had given more shits about consistent characterization and satisfying story arcs for the ladies...Β I would like to think this would have happened. :)
