I read your method in the comments, but I still don't understand. But. I love your drawing, it is so good, especially the details and the shadow and like, you feel the love they share/have for each other : D It is my main ot3 and I want more about them, especially since I ship less and less Naruto with Sasuke / I ship him more and more with Gaara and Lee (I don't understand how my brain works about that, it is weird because I shipped sasunaru for years and then I reread Naruto and... uh *cough* sorry I didn't intent to be negative on comment, sorry)
I love the fact Nart has a green t shirt (and I love his ears and Gaara's nose and I have the same headcanon for Lee and aaaaah I love your design so much T__T they are so cute)

I should work in nondigital media more often again, I remember this technique being a lot of fun.
Basically, I drew the lineart (in brown brushpen), the colours that are marker+colour pencil, and the colours that are watercolour, all on different papers. The colour parts were painted/markered with the paper on a light table, with the same sketch underneath that I used for the lineart. After scanning, I combined the different colour areas into their correct places and into the correct shape, with the lineart on top as a layer set to Multiply. Under the colours' layer(s) is a scan of a light green paperboard as the background.

Are markers water-based then?..
Or did you put them ON already dried watercolour?..

I did the markers and watercolour on separate papers and combined them digitally. I've used them together before, with marker shading on dried watercolour base colour, but that time the watercolour paper I used was pretty smooth so it kind of suited both mediums, while nowadays I prefer rougher paper with more texture for watercolour and smooth printer paper for markers.

Yes, I used toship Gaara and Lee as an otp earlier in the anime. Then when I came across your art I started liking Naruto and Gaara together more and more, resulting in me becoming a multishipper and discovering my first ot3
