I like what you did with the coloring, it reminds me of some kind of moonlight hitting him as he stalks his prey at night. however, I'm not too sure about the pose. I think that this kind of stalking pose is more for how a cat would stalk its prey as opposed to a canine. I'm going to give this example of an ethiopian wolf: [link] notice how it walks more straight, rather then arched up at its back, and also how its snout is facing forward instead of pointed downward. I think it really helps even when drawing pokemon to look at the actual animals they were based off of. Also, the fact that you included that stringy shadow at the bottom makes me want to see some sort of ground beneath him, but it seems to blend into the background as a design, so i would say either get rid of the shadow, or create some kind of ground for him to walk on.
Despite all I've said I want you to know that this is a really great piece and you got a nice dark, feeling to it, and the yellow light was a nice choice. I could totally tell what you were going for and it works nicely. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/> good luck with your future endeavors and keep drawing.

Thanks for the critique.
To be honest I actually did use a photo as a reference: [link]
I thought an African wild dog would be more suitable for Houndoom cause it looks closer to that than a wolf.
And the ground shadowy thing, yeah, I understand you. I didn't want to do nothing because it'll look like it's walking in space. I could've put a bit more detail into it.
Other than that, thanks!
Oh, and sorry, I can't view the picture. It says it's got an error.

it might just be because Houndoom's eyes seem to go more to the side that it doesn't look too much like he's focused on stalking prey. Idk what i was saying about the Cat thing. It was early in the morning when i wrote that, lol. I guess it was the fact that his eyes aren't more forward, and seem to be slapped onto the sides behind this big lump in his forehead. Does that make more sense? Sorry if i'm not being clear

Well I just know that a cat's eyes are more towards the front of the face than a dogs is.

Its probably that bulge thing you have in front of his eyes. THAT might be what's bothering me.

Oh yes, I see now. Yeah, probably too much of a bulge, lol.

Kinda looks more cartoony than the 'dark badass' look to me, lol. Still, not bad.

Haha, I know, but for Pokemon I think it is.
Thanks.
