And here's the conclusion of Centauri's team up with :iconjavipascal213:'s mysterious Ghost! Titus is defeated, but only just! He's a great character to draw and I wanted to treat him with a bit of respect, even if he was destined to lose this one! It took a really nasty trick from Ghost and Centauri turning the dials up to eleven and even then they only knocked him out. I suspect he will return!As for the mysterious Ghost - I have no idea whether this plotline will be developed or not - he's a pretty scary figure and something of an odd fit for a public hero team like Thunder Force - he has a lot of power and uses it pretty ruthlessly, which has shocked Centauri here, even though she wouldn't react until the bad guy was down (she's a professional!) Is Ghost an anti-hero with a heart or is there something more sinister going on? I have no idea! If the story doesn't go anywhere, then it's just Centauri imagining things! But she's probably high on whatever alien painkillers that suit is pumping into her, so we'll put it down to that!
This was the March challenge for the project - a little late, as usual! I also exceeded the page limit by one, so hopefully we'll stop breaking rules for this month's challenge...

Of course! He's Titus! This story has to be set before 's recent pages so Titus is back and smashing up the rest of the Thunder Force Beta Team before too long!

Honestly, this is the best stuff in DU recently. Great writing and art, helluva fight but also important topics were brought up. What is the line a hero can and cannot cross when apprehending a criminal? Ghost was very ruthless but highly efficient. Centauri's feelings are justified and should this ever have any sort of continuation, I'll sure be looking forward to it.

Thanks a lot! It was a fun sequence to do and great to work with - as for Centauri, I'm still kind of working out who she is as I go along, but I'm enjoying writing and drawing her more and more at the moment. Hopefully I'll be able to get a bit more done for the current challenge before the end of the month, and we'll see what she does about Ghost's actions...

Oof! Talk about throwing yourself against a brick wall! I bet the idea sounded better in Centauri's head. Though defeated, Titus comes out quite strong in this in a loose sense. Though he didn't get much offensive in, it took two big supes to take him down, and even then it was not without consequence. It also shows Centauri's commitment to the fight though, with a true heroes mentality if not completely reckless. I think it shows she is ready to make the biggest call though if she is willing to throw herself at the enemy like that in a do or die kind of scenario. A very nice entry and major credit to ye both!

I take it that Agent 42X must have researched him a bit before they offered him a place on a Thunder Force team - or did they just decide it was safest to put him somewhere they could keep an eye on him? She's awake, he's not - technically a victory for Team Centauri! Of course the real reason I made this impact so violent was that I really wanted to make Titus look good. He might have been beaten, but he's the DU Hulk! He doesn't go down easily

You have to pass some kind of exam I think - the Centauri League don't just give them away! As for Ghost - I haven't read much DC stuff in a while but the Martian Manhunter I remember didn't have much of a sense of humour - Ghost seems a bit arrogant at times too - but he definitely shares the Manhunter's mysterious and powerful vibe!

Just a part from the new JLA where he encounters despero n the manhunter does some mind fuck with him that he states something along the lines of the justice league wouldn't condone such actions but screw I'll do it anyway xD

Ghost is a deliberately blank slate. We only what his owner has shown us, that he is powerful and calculatingly ruthless. So why did 42X add him to Thunderforce? Do they know something about this mystery man we dont? And why was he on the station, as youve said he's not on the Beta team. The mystery of Ghost only deepens with each appearance. I hope that you two (and others) will follow up on these story threads.

That's it exactly! I'm not sure whether I'll be able to move that story on much more, I guess it depends whether the storylines throw Ghost and Centauri back together again! Plus I don't think Javi has seen this last page yet, but who knows? I think there's definitely a story here!

this was a great sequence! love love love the characterization of ghost. he is a jerk but he did help get the job done. a nice balance between creepy, humorous, heroic and edgy. love it!

Intense is the word! But I hate it when people finish off the bad guy dismissively easily - where's the drama in that? It's also quite disrespectful to the creator of that character if you write your own hero easily clobbering their carefully constructed villain! Titus is a major heavy hitter - he took on (almost) the whole Beta team after all - so I figured these two needed to go all out to bring him down. And Centauri has just shown that she'll risk injury to do the right thing - my work is done!

A very excellent point and a valid concern. Creators put their hearts into these heroes/villains so they should be treated in the vein they were created for. Titus is basically the Hulk and you should treat him with all the respect you'd treat the Hulk. But it will also be driven by circumstance. Imagine Great Man vs the Blue Smug, probably not a good match for Smug lol. But still its not impossible if the author is clever with the material. For instance I had my own Mr Happy get completely owned by the mighty wizard Relic. It made perfect sense in the context of Mr Happy facing a powerful being that he knew nothing about at the time. Hopefully he will do a little better next time.

Totally agree again! This is comics so you can do whatever you like, but you have to respect the continuity of the thing or it all falls apart (and for that matter, it's just polite to be nice to other people's characters!) What I like about your Mr Happy stuff (and I will get around to commenting eventually, honest!) is that he's a character with a sense of humour but he operates in the established DU world. Too often people have humourous characters who they enter in the DU and then tell jokey stories which demean the characters around them. You got the balance right - the character is funny but the world is the same one that has established.

Exactly, this is Maurizio's sandbox. Im just playing in it. Plus Im a huge continuity freak, lack of continuity drove me away from the Big 2 comic companies years ago. Those comics here that respect what he has established I follow, those that dont I tend to ignore. In my own personal comics its going to be much the same originally Mr Happy was going to be a parody/humor comic but once I decided to make his world realistic humor became his way of dealing and not the landscape of the world itself. Its an interesting thing to explore and Im influenced by the Spiderman comics I grew up with.

I got annoyed with the continuity crimes in Marvel a while back, but as soon as the big name creative talents get bored and move on, things tend to settle back to where they were before! DU seems to work pretty well considering how many people are involved. I tend to just ignore the bits I don't like and pretend they aren't there!
