The August challenge continues, and Vigil's sudden appearance is explained! Another attempt to distract Veladius Redd and prevent him from focusing to use the full power of the Vigilante Device fails - although it was a good try! Thunder Force are in trouble...The other thing that we're learning, is that Veladius Redd is a jerk.

It was a fun visual - there's loads of potential with Claygirl - even in her 'under control' state and the idea behind this stuff is that she's tearing into new shapes under the control of a raving lunatic! And yes, Oblivion is up next!

It surprised a few people I think! But if Vigil comes back it has to be 'earned' I think - rather than just having her show up to save the day. Oblivion is insanely powerful but even he can't beat Redd on his own - as we shall see!

That's just creepy. Poor Claygirl. I think this scene alone puts Redd in 'complete monster' territory. What he did to Goyle was bad, but this is just cruel. And I wonder what he's about to do to Oblivion?

Indeed I was - clever use of Claygirl. I had a feeling that was the trick you were playing.
You're doing a nice job of showing how dangerous Redd can be. He's normally a behind the scenes type of villain that orders others to do his work, but him having the Vigilante helmet has made him quite the adversary.
Love it - this is the kind of battle I was hoping to see when I planned this challenge. Great stuff Kost!

You're the only one who got it I think! I think this has come at the right time for Redd - you can only gloat and be the 'behind the scenes' bad guy for so long before you have to actually do something! We'll have to see! Her powers - and maybe a part of her - is inside the Vigilante Helmet - so this will be an important chapter in the development of the Vigil storyline, whether she reappears or not...

That's high praise indeed - you usually spot my plot twists in advance! I think this one worked because I kind of want to bring her back - I'm sure people know that! But it has to be in a way that makes sense and doesn't diminish the rest of the story. If Vigil had come back and saved the day at this point it would have been unearned, I think. Claygirl's 'breakdown' was fun to draw - hopefully she can pull herself back together after this!
