It's One Dollar Fighter time again - the OC tournament run by

Time for a (sort of) new character! Atalanta Adams was created for another project which I didn't have time to work on in the end, so time to give her a second chance I think! The green costume is a requirement of the competition - you can see the original look here:

Atalanta Adams was a child prodigy - a skilled musician, olympic level gymnast and holding doctorates in several scientific disciplines at Oxford University by her early teens. It was only when she got older that she discovered the truth: That she was in fact a demi-god - the product of a brief liason between a human mother, and Apollo, the Greek God of the sun!

Her Olympian heritage gives her the following powers:

SOLAR ENERGY:
Atalanta's speed, strength and endurance increases under the direct light of the sun. Without direct sunlight, Atalanta's abilities wane as she uses up her stored solar energy, until her physical abilities are comparable to an ordinary woman of her age, height and build. In pitch darkness, though her abilities are weakened, she would still be recieving the sun's radiation. However, if she were to be cut off from the suns radiation completely through artificial means, she would become severely weakened or incapacitated completely.

SOLAR POWER:
Atalanta's body stores solar power which she is capable of releasing in destructive bursts from her hands or eyes. Doing this drains her stored energy rapidly, so is only usually used as a last resort (finishing move!)

OTHER ABILITIES:
Like her physical attributes, Atalanta's intellect is effected by the sun. The direct rays of the sun increase her already phenomenal intelligence to superhuman levels. In combat, this enables her to anticipate an opponent's next move.

Since learning of the wider, weirder world which was opened up to her by her discovery of her true origins, Atalanta decided to use her abilities to defend humanity from a variety of threats, from organised crime to alien invasions. She abandoned her academic career and established herself as an adventurer, frequently working with British Intelligence Agencies.

What else will people need to know if they're drawing her for a tournament? Hmmmm

Place of birth: England

Identity: Atalanta Adams does not use a secret identity, as she has no living relatives (this side of Olympus!) to protect. Her correct title is 'Dr Adams' reflecting her qualifications. She uses her first name as her super-hero name when required.

Fighting style: Atalanta is an untrained fighter, so doesn't really use any particular style. She tends to rely on her speed and agility - as a trained gymnast, her fighting style is pretty graceful, and involves lots of acrobatics!
