Another bit of NGC fanart!Spectrum is a great character - she has a great backstory and an interesting power set. She belongs to a race of superhumans called the Superiors, who have been fighting a civil war on Earth for decades. She has the ability to generate a different power for each colour of the light spectrum, in this case, the blue light power involves manifesting an indestructible suit of silver armour.
I like this look better than her regular outfit - and having her emerge unscathed from a devastated landscape was an image I really wanted to get on paper.

She's one of their better designed characters overall and her power set is really unique. Just think she jobs a bit too much in their vids for how powerful she should be, but I guess they have to cater to the paying audience that wants to see super ladies pummeled.

Completely agree. If you're going to sell a character as being the most powerful heroine then I think they need to put a bit more work into establishing that. It would also give far more dramatic weight to the times when she is beaten. But, as you say, I guess they're giving the audience what they want! I kind of feel she needs a better regular outfit too, (as opposed to the silver suit here, which I love!) considering she's from a race of superior beings having her bra visible under her suit looks a bit cheap! But the actress is great and, as you say, a unique power set.

I do like her costume though, and I'm a fan of the Powergirl'ish look, and the silver with the changing colors looks pretty cool. 
I used to really like NGC because there was a good balance of story vs. the heroine both kicking butt and also having some difficulty, and I'm not trying to complain too much here, because I am a fan of peril in some cases and don't mind it, but it just seems lately most of their videos are dropping into the tried and true SHIP method of the heroine getting to do a little bit at the start and then spending the last 3/4 of the video getting her ass handed to her. Like I think the Bluebird character wound up devolving into her having a second wind power just so she could "come back" and land 2 punches before getting demolished completely a second time over. Great models and costumes though.

You’re not the only one who’s noticed that, lol. That seems to be the way the whole genre is headed; a direction I’m trying to go away from when I finally start doing my own videos next year. More story, more ‘girl power’, with some peril elements, like the older NGC videos.
I think the only reason the change in direction has been happening is because doing a consistent, over-arching storyline is very expensive to do with the returns the genre gets (you’re lucky to come close to breaking even, basically). It could also be that the ‘story’ videos don’t sell; I do remember a conversation with the guy who ran the Heroine Legends series, who told me the “Heroine Kombat” videos he did were super-big sellers, and they didn’t have any story attached.

I think it's the nature of what they do to be a little repetitive - given the limited budget. It must be very difficult building storylines when they're dependent on whether the actresses are available, or still working. It would be nice to see a bit more storyline and a bit less formula I agree, but as you said, they play to what sells I guess.

Athena was interesting - I think the actress has retired but they left her character on a really interesting storyline about why she appeared to be immortal - the fact that she was routinely taken out of the timestream by Seventh Dimension slavers and then put back when they were done with her. Spectrum definitely has lots of potential
