My Goodness, this is honestly both beautiful and kind of depression for two yet similar reasons: If Ryoba does love Ayano(Which I don't know why people think she doesn't) that this shows she's always by her daughter's side until things seem brighter on either side of the tunnel but Ayano is still a fresh newborn to these emotions within her and probably have no idea why her mother acts the way she does at all which is heartbreaking alone to either not receive or understand love.
But if the tables are turned and Ayano loves her mother dearly yet Ryoba is kind of holding a high goal over her daughter's head like a cat with their toy.
Either way, one would love someone dearly and there are times the love is pure for it's strong and connected but at other times it's not...And there are people who use that love to the point you're afraid to love anyone ever again...
I know that pain...Very much...Never seeing or too afraid to accept love towards themselves but also while gambling if the person before you does in fact love you as they say or act...

Well this wasn't in the vid, but remember how Ayano resulted to desperate measures to try elicit some sort of feeling?
I imagine this is a result of one attempt, perhaps at self harm or even suicide, to try feeling something.
And her mother here is still giving the same advice she always gave, "One day you'll meet someone special."
