Why yes this is counting for human week, they are “human” after all

I actually caught up on all the Korra I’d missed and I felt like drawing the Betas in Benderstuck. I’d seen it a little bit floating around, but not being a huge Avatar person I didn’t really think much of it. But I like Korra, so I thought why not! Then I got the ask, and it was just so perfect ^^

So this group are the waterbenders; these were also the first three I did and spawned everyone else

Aranea Serket
Story: she’s from the southern water tribe and is a very gifted healer. She doubts her abilities sometimes though, so in mid bending her waterforms can fall apart and that discourages her, but she still tries to keep her chin up and aid others.
Reasoning: it just fit so perfectly with her Sylph healing abilities and the healing. Course the ability to maybe bloodbend parallels with her telepathy a bit (ie ability to control people) plus there’s eth zodiac bonus and matching color pallet

Meenah Pexies
Story: she’s one of the princesses of the northern water tribe and hates it. She does not look forward to her “future duties” and in fact actually runs away with her personal guardian Kettah in tow. She wants to see the world, get away from her life, be someone else for a change. And you know, wreck a little mayhem in the process.
Reasoning: well it was sorta obvious being a seadweller and the zodiac bonus. But the running away princess also fit and the bloodbending ability is something I’m sure she’d love to do. Admittedly she could’ve pulled off firebender princess too, but she’s a fishy so she’s water.

Kettah Makara
Story: son of a north water tribe noble, she was raised and trained to be the guardian of the royal family, his charge being Meenah. So when she ran away, he followed her of course, to keep her safe. He believes strongly in traditional and his place in it, but even he could see how stagnant it was getting there, so as long as he’s protecting her, he’s not shirking his duties is he? Of course, the people they meet really get on his nerves quite easily and he’s known to have a hair triggered temper.
Reasoning: the reasoning for this was, not because of his guardianship over Meenah, but the bloodbending. Oh the things he could do doing that! but you know the guardianship of Meemah was important too. Oh and he uses iceforms as weaponry and clashes with Pan’s fiery-ness too

PK helped me brainstorm a bit cause I was stuck for some of them. I didn’t reference the “official” benderstuck when I was setting up their alignments, only when I was looking for clothing references. I’m sorry for all the inaccuracies; like I said, I’m not really an Avatar person. But this was fun, and I had fun drawing them. Will probably never draw them again, but hey still fun! XDDD
