Description
Now that I finally finished all my Princes since idk when I started, I thought it'd be neat to put a little height comparison chart together! On a technicality, Leviathan's the tallest, but he's out here cheating with tentacles.
Edit:
I was just so relieved to have them all done that I didn't even go into detail about their design philosophies since that's what I was excited to share. SO, in order-
Beelzebub:
The biggest of the bunch to kind of reflect his role in Hell. Most texts refer to him as King or the de facto ruler. His design is slightly inspired by Asmodeus, but being the Lord of the Flies, he has a lot of bug-like qualities to him.
Leviathan:
His design is a complete departure compared to everybody else. It's meant to reflect that he's not blood related but still on equal footing with the other Princes? He's a mish mash of a lot of sea creatures too (sea snake, rays/skates, and octopi).
Lucifer:
He was the first to be designed to be more human-like and is considered very vibrant compared to literally everybody else. Considering that in texts, he's regarded as a very beautiful man, thought it'd be neat that his face would be missing. So his whole deal is being a face stealer. I've also loved the idea that halos are simply connected horns, so his horns appeared to be shattered. Sauron was also a huge inspiration, mostly for the placement of his only eye.
Satan:
Very simple design. A big goat man but he likes fashionable robes.
Asmodeus:
His theme for me always centered around cows. Rabbits, I thought, would have been too easy? So cow it was. I've also been reading that he dresses like a very dapper man so his clothes are neat and fashionable! His hair's now flame-like cause I will cry if I always have to draw his mess of a hairstyle.
Belphegor:
So he's also supposed to be a very plain design but I was like "heehee it works cause he's sloth so he's lazy to make himself more interesting."
His clothes is based on men's lounge wear considering that Belphegor's is the owner of all casinos according to a few texts.
Mammon:
For his narrative, he's regarded as the youngest, so he looks the most human. His design was actually the toughest to figure out mostly because the only real descriptor was that he had a wolf's head, wolves being a symbol of greed. A lot of symbols of greed were mostly animals that led a seemingly "greedy" lifestyle, but they simply didn't jive with me. Instead, his mostly humanoid look, plus the dragon features, is based on the fact that humans can be truly greedy and western dragons are purposefully written to be greedy. Like it's deep but not really.
They all have TH pages plus other characters related to their narrative! I'm slowly working on fleshing them all out.
