"Ive never seen such a plant!" Chris explained as he ran his hands over one of the pumpkins he held. "We didn't have these on my home planet, what are they?"
"Pumpkins." Agrona replied with a rather smug smile. "Gourds. We carve them during the All Hallows celebration."
"You do this every year? What do you carve them for?"
"No particular reason, as far as I remember." She tossed her head as a way of shrugging. "Its fun though."
"I'm concerned about these pumpkins." Alekto spoke up. "They are not normally that color."
"I'm sure theres nothing to worry about!" Christopher shot a grin at the back of Alekto's head. "Mutations happen all the time."
Alekto sighed as he hurried his steps into a trot. "Let us take leave of this place. I do not like it."
"Whatever you say." Agrona changed her pace to match her brother's.
Christopher gleefully patted the pumpkin in his lap. "Fascinating!"
Nothing was terribly wrong with the pumpkins, except they got the trio stupid high when they ate the insides. Alekto swore never to touch the plant again, Agrona and Chris was already planning another trip to grab more.
