Description I have been working on this painting in the last week and a half straight, sometimes not leaving the studio til 6am the next morning. Painting is becoming a language for me. My next aim is to become better at perspective and slowly build up a poetic language of my own through painting. There are so many more to come!

Thank you! I LOVE THIS PAINTING TOO. It is one of my favorites. Jon and I had just begun dating at this point. His personality just fascinates me. I painted the image of him on the phone to kind of push him away from the viewer and placed myself in the background gazing up to kind of suggest a gazing look. I always catch myself studying him and it makes me laugh. I guess this was a symbolic beginning of us.

Its a fairly larger painting. 4ft/4ft oil on canvas

what inspired you?

I was inspired by the following artists: Dali, De Lempicka, Rockwell, J.L David, Ingres, Virginia Derryberry and a few more. The idea was playing with the scale of the figure and the portrait. I wanted to create a day-dream effect. We live in a separated world with technology. But we use technology to continue to share our emotions with our loved ones. The man is thinking about her and she is thinking about him. They are not in the same place, but they are in the same thought. The tree in the corner takes the viewer to an even further distant place to add more depth to the piece.

Does this help? Is there anything more specific I can explain? Thank you so much for inquiring.

hi there,
I have to admit I am still on producing it...thanks for asking I have done 50 buildings and there will be 30 more...I have a new program and I had to transfer my data form old to new program. That takes longer than I intended, but... well it goes on, I am confident about the progress...not happy, but confident I added you to my friends, since you are very kind and I like your art, it reminds me on a futurist...He did a painting "Farewell: Those who go" & "and those who stay"
I will produce a music video of 4 minutes to show the city and give a hint how the film will visually turn out...I wont spoil the story of course

I ADORE the softness and texture in this piece. Is this in watercolour?

kreativekitty3 In reply to midnightINK [2010-09-08 08:49:06 +0000 UTC]

Hey MidnightINK! It was done in oil paints. I use the oils fairly smoothly, and admire watercolors very much. Thank you for commenting on the texture!
