Idk why, but our life drawing professor assigned us with creating an illustration depicting the body dealing with spirituality...then mailing it to him. So of course I took pictures of it like a mad mantweaked the colors in photoshop

This is absolutely gorgeous! I really adore the color scheme you used and the worldly effect it gives. I really love the background, as well! I'm assuming you used watercolors which are a very difficult medium to work with and you've beautifully executed a mix of many colors which is pretty amazing. I also really like how the darker colors fade into lighter ones near the bottom.
As for the person, my favorite part about them is the heart and their expression. They seem very focused on connecting themselves with their spirit and faith which gives their heart satisfaction and salvation which is symbolized by its gold color.
Another touch that is really intriguing is that they're sitting on what looks like a lotus flower. If you indeed meant the flower to be a lotus, I like the fact that, in mythology, lotus flowers were used to make one forget what they were doing or their purpose. This is interesting in the context of this paper because it's as if the person is forgetting everything else in the process of concentrating on spirit. I love it!
Overall, this is a really magnificent piece that obviously have a lot of thought put into it.

This is so cool, I love how you did the watercolor! The bits of blue and pink are really gorgeous, and the key and heart and lotus are nice touches as well. It is kind of weird art assignment though haha, wonder what your professor did with all the post cards
