In the upper right hand corner of the deviant art page is a button that says "Download, ZIP Download, 2.0MB" Click it, save the contents (A .zip file) to "C:\Users\YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME HERE\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\resourcepacks" Then select it in game the usual way. If you have Linux or Mac OSX the folder you save to will be different.

I don't know if I'll be able to commit to doing mobs, but I would like to see all the world-blocks finished eventually, though Minecraft will likely have moved on from 1.8 by then.

1.6.4 and up should work, though I'm having problems with wood-planks in 1.7.x

i realize that it may not be EXACTLY what you where going to try for with this texture pack now that mojang's stance on the 3d models have changed. BUT have you tried the minecraft block modeling program Cubik made by the Sphax PureBDcraft people? It can produce things VERY similar to what you where trying for to begin with. i hate to see this project die because mojang is being pigheaded.

On another note, progress is still being made on the texture pack, and I AM keeping my eyes peeled for ways to make this a 3D model pack.

fair enough on all accounts. i just figured it might be worth the look considering that cubik, from what i understand, does try to work within whatever the changes that mojang has made.

Mmmhm. If the default Mojang format will do what you want, Cubik might be worth looking into, ignoring reputation of the author. From what I've seen it looks like it's got a nice setup for working within Mojang's limitations.

"from what i understand, does try to work within whatever the changes that mojang has made" re-read the comments and understood better, you already mentioned that, so ignore this part... XD i have dyslexia, makes things hard for me sometimes. lolz

While I thank you very much for the input, Cubix is out for a few reasons.
First, and most importantly of the three, it's just a way of automating creating models for the system Mojang has already put in place. It allows no more creativity or freedom than is already possible, it just makes doing things a lot quicker.
Second, it costs money. The file-format Mojang uses is, from what I've heard, very similar to the output of a .obj file. If it came down to it, I would prefer to pinch a couple pennies, do a little bit more work, and get some knowledge on scripting than pay for a program that, in effect, is not doing much and will probably quickly be replaced by some free-ware.
Third, the reputation of the author is somewhat less than noble. At best he's greedy and doesn't care about the people purchasing his software once he has their money, and will do what he can to make more money off of them, at worst he's potentially malicious-through-negligence in the way he tries to gain this extra income.

a proper preview would be great, why would i download without knowing how the textures look in the first place?

This looks really cool, it also might be worth looking into shader bump mapping later on down the road

Maybe. In the end I will probably upload the source files. If someone wishes to provide bump-map support they will be more than welcome to do so. I might do so for the basic blocks, but not all of them. There's a lot of blocks, and the nor-mapping can probably be better handled by someone with some scripting knowledge, due to it's repetitive nature.
Nor=bump

It was the fact that stone was Capitalized.

Hmmm, the only thing I can possibly see wrong with the stone not working on my end, is that it's first letter is capitalized. Other than that make sure you don't have any other packs activated?
