Description Remember back in the early days of Bionicle, when those build-your-own-Toa sprites were being passed around? Ahh, it's good to have computer rendering skills, and I kind of miss those sprite sheets, so here's a little something for you to play around with. More coming soon.

These are some of the best Toa Mata part renders I've ever seen! So many people get the thicknesses of certain sections wrong.

I once tried to make a spritekit with extremely accurate proportions and shading. You can see a preview of it here . But I never really got very far, and at that level of detail I'm probably kidding myself if I pretend that I could have gotten it to any state of completion.

I'd love if the hype for the new BIONICLE brings about an evolution in the fandom, from simplified, low-detail sprites like this to all sorts of high-detail sprites, or maybe even animation rigs and flash puppets!

I honestly didn't do much here! I Downloaded the parts from LDraw using lists on Rebrickable to figure out which parts I would need, then setup some materials and repositioned things in Blender to render! Trying to do something at this level of detail by hand would be pretty crazy O,O

A forward facing torso would be good, but this looks good so far. You don't often see HD sprite sheets.

The torso in the lower-right-ish corner *is* forward facing. It's hard to tell because of the isometric view, though.

Thanks for the comment. I remember enjoying the old sprite-sheet quite a bit, a HD one is something younger-me would've enjoyed even more. Since I already have to more-or-less make these for a class project, I figure I might as well go the extra inch and then share the stuff.

Oops, I just realized it is forward facing. It just looked like it was the other way to me because of the distance I was seeing it from. Sorry bout that.

No worries. It's ridiculously hard to tell from an isometric forward view anyways.  I had to open the 3D model file to be sure I *hadn't* rendered the back view.
