Description I should have bought a macro lens a long time ago, but it is "better late than never." I took this shot with my new Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G. This little prime beast is phenomenal (and doubles as a portrait lens too).

I know there are thousands of macroscopic leaf photographs, but it's just one of those fun (although cliche) shots that you have to try. I took this by taping a leaf to my living room window to equalize the depth of field. The sun shining in illuminated the leaf's veins well, but I still increased the brightness and contrast when editing.

I hope you like it.

You're right, this is a cliché photo - but a good one. Love the light and green. When I get a macro lens I will definitively give it a go myself.

Thank you very much! I am going to try to shoot some other mundane things up close... like beer, ice tea, kiwi, oranges, etc etc. The skin/texture should be awesome.
