It's Gemel! Or Gemerl, or Gmel, whatever he's called, i've heard them all, but i've heard Gemel most commonly. Feel free to correct me.Anyway, it's Gemel from Sonic Advance 3, doing my favorite pose. Throughout the course of the game you meet with Gemel in every act, the Emerl looking fiend gets seemingly more and more powerful each time you meet, until on the last act of Chaos Angel Zone he lowers down from the top of the screen, striking a pose which just screams "power".
Or that's what I want you to think, in reality I just think it looks pretty cool, that pose.
This is my first PROPER try at Sonic Adventure style shading, and I think I did it fairly well for the most part, and it's my first try at Gemel obviously. My original idea was to do either a Gemel VS Emerl pic, or a Gemel VS Metal Sonic pic, which I still may do.

Thanks! Yeah, even though it's one of my earlier pics, I think it's still one of my best. And it was my first try ever with SA-Style shading too.

Vector art has always impressed me, and this is no exception. Unlike some of your other pieces, where I find the linework solid but iffy (IMO), This one has none of that. Every line and curve isn't abnormal looking in the least.
Your coloring and shading is amazing to the point of professional. Professional in the sense that I wouldn't be taken aback to see that on any sort of package at all. It's consistent, it's done to it's best, and it's damn good.
I haven't seen your work for the longest time, excepting the Donkey Kong piece, and it has come a long way from what is most recent in memory (still excepting that pic). Maybe I've written too much again but... it's really good like.

Nicely made, Kritter, it looks more like official Sonic Team artwork!
And about the character, I believe the official name is Gemerl, and he is also Emerl. SPOILER ALERT, stop reading if you don't want Sonic Battle's story mode ruined for yas.
Okay then.
In the last chapter (Emerl's story), Dr. Eggman figures out how to make a link with Emerl and take him back. Emerl then goes haywire, beats Eggman up, then tries to take control of the Death Egg and it's main weapon. Tails recharges the teleoprter, sends Sonic up (since Shadow is weak without his emerald) to stop him with the Master Emerald (given to Sonic by Knuckles). Emerl and his Chaos Emeralds start to react to the Master Emerald, he tries to regain his senses, but then he smashes the Master Emerald (like you didn't see this comming). Tails tells Sonic (via that communication system) to try and "neutralize" him to make him stop, but warns that it can possibly destroy him. Sonic beats up Emerl, he gets his senses back, then overloads and vanishes (not explode). Afterwards, Eggman found the remains of Emerl and rebuilt him into Gemerl.

Gemel is from Sonic Advance 3, not Sonic Battle. Emerl is the one from Sonic Battle, and they're both good.

I used Illustrator to do the lines and basic colours, and I did shading and other touchups in photoshop. I drew it up in pencil first though, and scanned it so I had something to work with.
