More Gaster art; this time I wanted to try something different, as well as practice a more painterly style. I’m quite pleased with the results - it’s not often that your own work matches the image you had in mind! The colours suffered a little bit during the transition, but… alas.There might be a little hidden message in here - thumbs up for those who decipher it! :'D

Hey how do you make high quality gifs like this? when I try to save them on photoshop they always have bad quality.

You need to tinker a bit with the optimization settings - especially regarding the color table! I usually have most success with selective/adaptive, and setting the color amount to maximum. It's still a lot of trial-and-error, since different settings work best for different pictures and color palettes.
You might not be able to get a 'perfect' looking GIF, especially with really detailed pictures; this picture is the best version I could get out of the original, but there's still a bit of loss - it used to have a more gradient-like shading on the white parts, as well as more vivid colours during the glitch part.

who is gaster?

He is a secret character that can only be found if you search through the game files of Undertale. The story that we know about him so far is that he was the first royal scientist before alphys. He was the one who created the core that powers the entire underground. One day, he fell into the core, and his consciousness was scattered across the universe. Now, he is forced to watch everyone live their lives in a reality where everything is the same, but he doesn't exist. He has to watch in agony as the entire universe continues to play out normally as if he never mattered at all.

Gaster is a sort of secret character in Undertale. You won't see any mentions of him during your playthrough, unless you tamper with the game itself a bit! What you can find pieces together into a fascinating, in my eyes, side story - that's why I grew to like Gaster so much!
