Gandalf! I love the hair, and the emotion captured in his eyes. One minor squibble: it looks as though the hairline comes down a bit to far, but other than that I love it. Again, I admire your control over charcoal: I'd have smudges everywhere.

Trick is to use anything other than your finger to blend with. Cotton wool, tissue or one of those rolled paper blender things (I forget what they are called).

Yeah, I tried my finger a few times before learning the oils get into the paper and make it harder to erase. Aren't they called stumps or tortillions? Nevertheless I know what you're talking about,

Yup tortillions that the little blighters. I also find cotton buds make great blenders for charcoal and pastels.
