I honestly must say that I didn't follow any of your works after i left the forum. To my regrets there are some artists that loose in my sight. I'm very sorry about your dog. The drawing looks awesome and got much soul in it!

Keith this is an absolutely beautiful drawing. It looks like you've captured the soul of Storm. I'm so very sorry that he's no longer with you, but I hope his memory stays alive through your drawing.
On a different note, you've done such a brilliant job of this, if you have any suggestions for how to achieve such realism when drawing dogs I'd love to hear them. I'd like to draw my own dogs one day, but not before I can do them justice.

Hi Lauren thanks for that, picture hangs on the wall now and I find myself stopping and staring at it from time to time...
As far as tips goes I'm not sure what to say really, I use similar techniques as I use for my pencil portraits just with a lot of painstaking little strokes to get all the fur in. As with any portrait I always think its the eyes that really capture the subject so I always try to get those right first. The fur I just built up with progressively darker pencil strokes until I got the sesired effect.

Thanks it was kind of a sad and happy drawing to do as it brought back all my memories of him as I was drawing it
