It's a friendly jellyfish girl! Her name is Amy, she's based on the jellyfish that rammed head on into my stomach while swimming in the Atlantic on a full moon. Lucky for me it was all cap or I would have been screeeeewed...Related content

The way her eyebrows are tilted makes me think "EEEEEEEEVIL" more than "friendly." STAY OUT OF THE WATER, OFF-CAMERA BYSTANDERS!

I've never been stung by a jellyfish (never been in or near an ocean for that matter) but one of my friends has.
I got to examine a dead one up close in Research Biology though. Friggin awesome.

Oh god, as beautiful as jellyfish are, as soon as they're seen in the water I'm OUT.
Not that this is of any interest to anyone, but we were out on a whale-watching boat yesterday, and I guess due to some upwelling current coming up from Mexico THOUSANDS of jellyfish were clogging the water. Gorgeous and ridiculously creepy at the same time; eighteen-foot sea nettles and moon jellies as big around as a family size pizza.

This has happened to me. I was visiting my dad, and we went swimming. Ninja jellyfish said OHAITHAR Im just gonna run into you and scare the crap out of you and proceeded to do so. Only I wasn't so lucky, My leg caught a couple of his tentacles. I SCREAMED. It hurt SO FREAKIN BAD. It felt like my leg had spontaneously combusted. D8 My friend was freaking out trying to get me out of the water, and ended up slicing his foot open on a piece of glass.
Such a lovely memory. XD

I was swimming in the gulf a few weeks ago and ran into a 6 inch long jelly.

The scary thing was that I had been SNORKELING as well, looking at different corals growing on the pier. It was when I was wading in the same spot that I got stung and noticed them coming in on the tide.
