Well, I took a plain photo of a tortoise, edited the hues to appear greener, then I drew on some stuff with the class tablets.

Well I mean, it's not hard to get an A in that class so yeah. And he's really lenient on what we make our projects as.

SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-05 17:55:48 +0000 UTC]
No he gave you an A because YOUR ART IS FREAKING AMAZING! And this is super cool!

Aww, you're so sweet! But actually, I did get two of my pictures in the art show here I think...?

The Opal one and the other one that I feel embarassed to show to the public.

THE OPAL ONE IS BADASS! Which one did you feel embarrassed by...?

Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-07 22:42:19 +0000 UTC]
The one that was supposed to have a message behind it but ended up becoming a poster for the school's care line because the teacher kept giving suggestions.

Poster for the school's care line? Oh yeah, the one with your school name. I still really wanna see that one! It's awesome how they're using it as a poster!
π: 0 β©: 1
Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-08 07:55:25 +0000 UTC]
I don't think it's going to be an actual poster, but I feel awkward making it because⦠eh, I just don't like advertising things for the school.
π: 0 β©: 1
SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-08 13:13:59 +0000 UTC]
Oh... yeah. Is it just the school or advertising things in general?
π: 0 β©: 1
Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-08 14:26:48 +0000 UTC]
I guess kind of in general, because it feels really wrong. I mean, I know it's for the care line and that's a good thing, but I can't really get over itβ¦
π: 0 β©: 1
SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-08 19:26:29 +0000 UTC]
Oh, well, if you do art for a career, you may need to make advertisements...
π: 0 β©: 1
Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-08 19:59:09 +0000 UTC]
Of course, of course. Tjat I am okay with, but I don't like some of my attempts at legitimate art becoming an advertisementβ¦
π: 0 β©: 1
SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-09 02:53:47 +0000 UTC]
OH. So they were using your art as an advertisement... like emotional art? Then yeah that's weird.
π: 0 β©: 1
Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-09 02:57:07 +0000 UTC]
It is kind of weird, and I just really do not like it. I mean, I didn't really pour my heart and soul into it exactly, but I just feel wrong about it...
π: 0 β©: 1
SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-09 03:46:48 +0000 UTC]
Did the teacher ask to put the picture on the ad or was he just like "lol my class my art"
π: 0 β©: 1
Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-09 04:39:44 +0000 UTC]
Not really, I made the picture first, and when I told him the meaning behind it (I made up BS because I don't know how to make symbolic imagery in one picture) he just kept adding suggestions for some reason and I don't think he realized I liked it less and less because of that.
π: 0 β©: 1
SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-09 12:54:12 +0000 UTC]
Oh... agh, that sucks. I have a feeling he kept giving suggestions because he knew in advance it would be for the ad. But still, he took the picture from you.
π: 0 β©: 1
Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-09 15:00:41 +0000 UTC]
No, I think he was just trying to be helpful, but didn't realize that I didn't like it. It's not actually going to be used for the school, they still treat it as an art project, but I just don't appreciate it.
π: 0 β©: 1
SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-09 23:49:21 +0000 UTC]
Oh, well... yeah. Even if he just gave you suggestions he should've realized it was your piece and not his.
π: 0 β©: 1
Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-10 02:02:18 +0000 UTC]
I don't blame him though, I'm sure his heart was in the right place. And I mean, judging by his age he doesn't seem to be a very experienced teacher either so it's alright.
π: 0 β©: 1
Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-11 01:59:00 +0000 UTC]
I'm not sure, but I feel like he's in his early to mid thirties which is pretty young for a teacher.
π: 0 β©: 1
SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-11 12:59:54 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, that is pretty young... but if he hasn't had any experience, still, assuming he's an artist he should know he shouldn't change your work...
π: 0 β©: 1
Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-11 13:07:24 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, but eh, it's a bit too late to fix now sadly. Though I'm still having a lot of fun in the class.

SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-13 00:59:43 +0000 UTC]
I cry... but I'm happy you're having fun! Do you guys have a final project?
π: 0 β©: 1
Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-13 01:54:41 +0000 UTC]
I actually don't know what the final is, but for the project I'm doing now, it's a portrait thingy of Rebecca Sugar so there's that.

Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-13 14:37:22 +0000 UTC]
YES! Well, it's more like a photo that I have to edit to resemble a painting but it still counts.

AGH I TRIED REPLYING EARLIER BUT MY NEW LAPTOP IS A PIECE OF POO AAGERHERGBFDNMWKEIRUJHENM anyways Is it like a picture that you have to draw strokes over to look like a painting? Or do you apply filters? or do you paint everything from scratch?
π: 0 β©: 1
Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-14 16:04:02 +0000 UTC]
It's alright! But it's sort of like what you described. Basically we sample colors from the original portrait, desaturate the picture in a new layer, and start making shapes with those color tones that end up making the picture kind of resemble one of those paint by numbers projects, but there are no numbers involved.
π: 0 β©: 1
SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-14 17:16:25 +0000 UTC]
Oh! That's super cool. I love the look of paint by numbers pictures... will you be uploading this to your account?

Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-14 18:46:32 +0000 UTC]
Probably! Once it's finished of course, I've only got like a fifth of it finished so far.

Aww, thank you! Though I admit she was actually my second choice. Originally I wanted to do Mamoru Hosoda, but there weren't any good quality photos of him.
π: 0 β©: 1
SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-15 13:10:30 +0000 UTC]
Ouch. Well, either one of those would've been really cool to draw a picture of, or edit a picture of. Is it going to be monochrome?
π: 0 β©: 1
Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-15 14:55:17 +0000 UTC]
Nah, it's in color. But we have to make one of the layers monochrome so we can separate the different shades of gray and color them in with different shades of color that correspond to them.

SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-16 12:22:19 +0000 UTC]
Ahh... gosh, your teacher taught you that? That's so freaking cool! Even if he changed your assignment that one time teaching you how to do that is actually a pretty useful skill.
π: 0 β©: 1
Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-16 18:13:25 +0000 UTC]
Yep! And for that assignment I am not proud of, I think he asked me if he could keep itβ¦ probably to hang it up in the classroom with the other projects. That will be awkwardβ¦
π: 0 β©: 1
SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-17 01:25:41 +0000 UTC]
Oh goodness, really? So you'll have your art that you don't like as a remnant in the classroom forever? Well, obviously he likes it...
π: 0 β©: 1
Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-17 02:55:50 +0000 UTC]
Eh, if he likes it, I guess he can keep it. But it'll be so awkward looking at itβ¦

SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-17 03:41:27 +0000 UTC]
I'm sorry that had to happen to a piece you liked so much, my love...

Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-17 04:19:15 +0000 UTC]
It's alright I guess, if he somehow thinks it's worthy. At leave I've gotten to keep some of the stuff I made today.

SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-17 13:01:16 +0000 UTC]

Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-17 14:54:19 +0000 UTC]
I made it a while ago in the class, but they finally got printed out and I could hang them up in my room and stuff.

Kufguh In reply to SigmaAlphaTwo [2016-05-18 02:15:31 +0000 UTC]
Yeah! Or, at least I'll try to. I kind of hung one up on my wall that isn't on the usual area that you see. And then one of them is a sticker that I put onto the laptop itselfβ¦

SigmaAlphaTwo In reply to Kufguh [2016-05-18 12:59:27 +0000 UTC]
Oh... okay the sticker one will be hard to see. But wow, I can't believe you guys actually printed stickers!
