Description A really...crappy low quality animation for my portfolio. I'm so confused on the whole thing. If I get accepted, they teach me animation. Yet an animation is suggested in the portfolio.
What if you've never learned how to animate? I taught myself in Flash...what if you don't have flash? What if you learn better when someone teaches you?
Bah whatever, they probably want to see what you've adapted on your own.

You may have to download it to see the animation.

omg..lol... Thats awesome.. people who merely can draw straight lines..ofmg.. You are so deserved to get the fck in there and own them al..

I once tried to make an animation in flash, but I failed.. Have no idea how I should do the stuff with..layers and coloring.. And.. everything..

Spooky though, looks like a head intro to some anime.. *character change spin desu*

"featuring Dhe"

...yeah.. Wish I knew how to even work with layers in flash lal.

I would find it really creepy and hilarious if his eyes stayed on us the whole time. XD

I love his hairs. T_T Good luck getting in!

Art school is so weird. I remember my first year they didn't even give us any class in our major. We all took generic fine arts classes like drawing and painting together.

The animation's not bad at all for an example, just moves a little too fast for my taste (could use a couple extra tweens but this is probably not necessary to get in). Is this a 2d or 3d animation program that you're trying to get into?

Well...I go to a University and I'm Majoring in Digital Media. There's two tracks that digital media students can take, interactive systems and visual language. Visual Language is the more intense course that you have to be accepted into after your sophomore year, then you move to a new campus where you're taught 3d modeling and animations. The other track teaches some 3D animation stuff but it's more about programming and web design.
The first two years of college for digital media students is just getting the general education classes out of the way. A lot of people have been asking me what art classes I've taken now that I said I'm trying to get into an animation program...and...I've only taken one art class that had nothing to do with my major, but it was required. ^-^;

This is really good. I like the smoothness.

I don't actually know about anywhere else, but I'm pretty sure that in universities over here, they provide programs that are needed for coursework.

And, they might be looking for different qualities inthe animation. I took a portfolio interview for jewelry design, so they were looking for how I dealt with 3D situations within artworks, not necessarily how well I...designed jewelry??

I could see that kind of situation if they had been preparing me FOR the animation classes, but I've been taking general education classes that taught me nothing about the program. D>

I really love the animation, my only recomendation would be to slow it down, it spins so fast my I cant catch the art so much as the fact that its turning around

they probably want to see that you're motivated in learning it, even on your own.

..thats retarded? XD wtf? You have to have an animation in order to get accepted to learn it? Thats gay. Maybe their assuming you've had it somewhere before or something, Idk, thats really gay though. I like this though..his head..its all...whee. -spinspinspin..!!!!!!!!-

It IS retarded. D8| I doubt they expect us to have previous training in this stuff because the beginning drawing class I was forced to take had people in it who couldn't even draw a straight line.
AMAZING.

Can I ask where you're applying too? I ask because I went through the same thing, I applied to several and strictly animation schools and I go to Ringling now (sophomore currently). Just wondering if I can help you out with any portfolio advice

I attend the University of Central Florida but they have a limited animation program for Junior and Senior years that students have to be accepted into. =<

Are you transferring? Or is it just one of those systems where you need to submit a portfolio to get into the upper tiers of the program?

Anyway, looks pretty good. Good luck!

It's a limited program so I have to get accepted. Right now I'm considered a Digital Media Visual Language "hopeful" since I'm not accepted yet. @3@
